elektron A4 plus basimilus iteritas alter

Post by mambo_bondage » Wed Jan 01, 2020 5:46 pm

dearest wigglers,

after years of lurking around the forum, scheming and dreaming I finally wandered into eurorack territory. (Noise Engineering made me do it!) I bought a basimilus iteritas alter, and it came with free mimetic sequent+mimetic multum expander.

My plan is to sequence them with my elektron A4. I would very much appreciate suggestions on what else I should put in my rack to get more modulation possibilities between A4 and basimilus - some envelopes maybe? I was thinking pip slope or intellijel quadrax maybe. But I'm 100% shure Im forgetting something here as I am 100% noob noob.

here is a screenshot of what I have in mind

any help would be much appreciated.

cheers! :help:

The grayscale Synapse is essential as the coloured LEDs make seeing what the A4 is doing really useful.

For getting the best out of the BIA lots of modulation is key. You have 4 CV outs from the A4, 1 will be a trigger leaving you with 3. I would recommend something like the Quad LFO from Malekko which gives you 4 more LFOs with attenuation (useful as the BIA does not have any attenuation on it’s inputs.)

Thanks for the tips! :hail:
Yes, I found one used synapse on modular grid and bought it :) Quad LFO looks very cool! I was also checking Xaoc Batumi but feature - wise the quad lfo looks more tempting (recording slider movements sounds awesome)

Equally, Malekkos Voltage Block is a world of inspiration simply with its randomise feature. Worth a look... I prefer that to the Quad LFO - though they are different beasts.

yeach I was a little scared of the voltage block as I couldn't comprehend how it works but after watching some videos I think I got the idea. It seems ideal with 8 outputs that match the inputs of the BIA. So it looks like I will need a couple more modules to have something to sequence with the A4 haha :despair:
