Thanks. I thought it was fun and appropriate given the recent debate about selling them for megabucks.

They should be here any day now. I got to see the thing in action in person and it totally rules! It does so much, it's insane. Can't wait to get mine.

his twitter says they're in the factory so they shall arrive shortly...i understand the frustration though, patience can be a bitch...seems strictly for the maniacs, so i'm in. this thread keeps popping up & diverts my own patience...i'm getting hungry

The SEMTex XL's mirrored layout is my biggest qualm about that synth. I have to "reset" myself almost every time I use it.

I think the SMT parts have been placed, and next week the through hole will be done. I'll have a more precise date soon - once they get back here it will just take a few days to test, calibrate, panel/knob, and ship.

I should have them in my hands and ready to calibrate early next week. Let's say they ship to dealers a week after that.

...and then you will all be in for a ride. Seriously epic module.

My DA-video-thread just shows

A/my slow learning curve
B/some basic envelope-VCA patching

...but the DA is also great for drones, wierd digital sputters and artefacts, Piston Honda styled oscillations, modulator of filters, etc etc... deep shit.
Do yourselves a favor and buy one this summer, you will not regret it.

So would this be a suitable alternative to a second maths even if I don't want anything overly harsh sounding?

Maybe. I own two Maths and I do not use them as I use the DA. When using Maths you kind of know what you will get, the DA gives you things you did not even think of. If that makes sense...

Another thing I can´t do with Maths is the "wierd" envelope shapes you have in the DA. You can´t do that anywhere else. The DA can also be very vanilla if you want, so "overly harsh sounding" depends on how you use it.
To sum it up; you need both.

@ governor / nrdvrgr
Was it ever answered whether the DA will retain its settings upon powering down?

Thanks.

The Andore forgets its button settings on powerdown,

On Harvestman night shift right now. Putting knobs on 115 Double Andore. The Analogue Haven shipment leaves tomorrow, with Schneiders Buero and Moog Audio shipping at the end of the week (along with Piston Expanders for everyone)
