The VCO and DSP and pedal stuff has been up for a while - but this double EG as piqued me bloody interest.

After reading the Guv'nor post in the thread about this in the EuroRack section, I have to ask:

Is the ENV a CV output of the entire cycle (AR, AHR, LFO)?

The backwards wording on the left side does my head in.

If the knobs are reversed too (CCW, with the right side being CW), it might force my interest out the door, sadly.

Personally the mirrored side makes it seems easier to work with!

i think my brain likes it as well. for some reason the muscle memory for my hands probably will like it as well. i think it makes more sense to turn side by side knobs in opposite directions to mirror the same result.

yeah i know but i thought i'd just throw it in the thread as a reminder of future awesomeness.

i think it's because i've been falling in love again and again w/the HD. really impressed w/it. goes way beyond what i expected.

aw I didnt think about that, that would be not so good.. for me anyway.

Can anyone point out to me the glaring differences between this and Maths?

i too hope the knobs are mirrored, i think it would be really awkward if they all moved the same way on a mirrored/symmetrical design.

regarding the differences from the maths, here is some info straight from the source:
governor blacksnake wrote:Here's how it works:

Both left/right sides of the module are identical from the factory.

The top section is an AD envelope generator with EOA and EOD outputs too. There is one CV input with attenuator that can be assigned to attack time, decay time, curve shape, or any combination of the three. The freeze input holds the envelope in its current position. The Mirror input flips it upside down, keeping it in the 0-8v range.

The shape control lets you select one of 16 curves. The nearby knob selects the curve, and it can optionally do a piston-style interpolation between adjacent curves (just in one dimension).

The envelope can run in AD, AHD, and LFO mode. I'm also working on a bonus mode that lets you use the CV input to shape an incoming CV using the onboard curve tables.

The envelope output is normalled to the control input of the bottom section which is a VCA. You can select linear or log response for the CV, and also assign the VCA on the other side of the module to modulate it too.

The lower jack in the center is a mix of the two VCA channels, and the one on the top of the module is a sort of maximum circuit that lets you make more complicated envelope shapes - the knob adjusts the balance between the two sides

The envelope shapes can be written with the wave256 software, and you can have different curves for each side of the module if you write it that way.

so basically built in VCAs, customizable morphable shape wavetables and some other tricks.

The MATHS is a symmetrical design and I don't have any problem understanding the correlation between motion on any of the channels. Also, since every single piece of gear I've ever put my hands on works as 'clockwise motion = increase in value', I'd say that having the left channel of the Andore to be functionally inverse would drive be wacky.

envelators aren't.. unless you mean "increase the decrease in attack/decay time"

Oh good, another module I can live without! :) a couple of those intelijel modules are must haves, but I've seen a whole bunch of announced modules that don't strike my interest at all and that's a good thing.

Whoa, I think this will replace the maths for my enveloping duties, looks really nice! :tu:
(will keep the maths for glide and such though, don't go looking in bst just yet ) :hihi:

very curious about the "shapes" as well as frequency range.

i've puts envs through bit crushers before going into VCAs used for audio. nice glitchy attacks and warbly, gargly sounds. digital envs seems like a good thing, though of course vanilla curves in addition to steppy/wonky ones would make this versatile.

i am eager for sound examples and more details when the time comes...
