Look at those walls of modular heavenly kingdom! :woah:

Watch, kick back, and try to count every time you smile in recognition of a module you particularily love or would get your hands on or have nice memories tied to.... :cloud:

I noticed the cool technique of jamming a SM57 mic into the tiny speaker on the EMS synth.

There is a synth with a four octave keyboard that says "EXAGONE" across the back, appearing briefly at 1:48 and 2:57. A quick internet search reveals nothing by that name. Anybody know what that is?

Wonderful sea of toys. :hihi: Hopefully some of these goodies will make it to the stage for some live wiggling.

I do the same with an old yamaha handysound - baking paper inbetween gives a nice fuzz and tilting a coca cola type glass directly above adds a nice and very controllable resonant filteroid effect, much like how a talkbox would!

I really liked seeing the A-143.1 Complex Envelope / LFO there. Not the most glamorous of modules, sure, but I use it all the time so I have a real affinity and fondness for it.

Actually, considering how much 5U stuff is featured in that video, I'm surprised you only saw the euro. There are other formats!

I thought the comment just reflected on euro being proudly featured among their systems (with all the clear panel shots of certain modules and all), with no intent on ignoring the rest?

Yes, the original comment may have been what you meant. However, the addon about "big modulars had their days in prog rock, i.e. ELP... " was just a bit of euro-bigotry - not meant in a harmful way, I'm sure, but still, open your eyes, people! There are many modular formats that are thriving now, today! As demonstrated in this video!

if you can't take some bragging one in a while.....

what I meant is its novelty to see euro rigs with established rock bands, but we've seen other formats before in such context

Actually I can't seem to get my head around the emphasis on format. How can that even be important? They even work beautifully side by side! I mean, there's a good reason to separate threads here on MW (for the sake of tidyness), but perhaps that structure also encourages an not always so friendly atmosphere between format puritans? :/

Edit: Needed to add that most discussions seem very friendly to me. Didn't mean to sound so overly dramatic.

Sorry for the derailing.

I wonder what they used for this song specifically?

Rad video. Modular is nothing new for DM. They've been wiggling long before a lot here were born. Whole bunch of crazy gear in that clip.... Euro, Dotcom, MS20...you name it. Glad to see these guys still keepin it real after all these years.

Liked the music and video, didn't really care for his vocals at all.
Haven't listened to DM for a few years, probably before AW left.

it's so weird that all I can think of when I see that video is Shawn at Analogue Haven and Roger at Dotcom packing boxes and boxes of modules. I don't know why. :hihi:

yeah I'm not into the vocals either, but the synth sounds are awesome.

:omg: I'm sure Shawn could support the packaging tape industry on his own. :hihi:

It is! I've had several pet rats, normally in groups of at least three. The one on the picture is Potemkin, my favourite (and the love was quite mutual, too). Rats really become like family members if raised carefully, which is a bit of a tradegy due to their short life span... oh well. Wonderful, clever little creatures! They even know what sort of cables are safe to destroy, and they know with a fingertip precision when daddy's not watching...
