Where to buy Cables? noob question

Hello everyone,

I was wondering where a good place to buy
cables from besides ad infinitum, or AH, or Big City.

Is there a place you can just buy bulk from?

well....i was sort of thinking more like a place like Mouser or something?
a place to buy some cheap cables.....

i'm in the US, so schneiders isn't an option

What kind of cables? 1/4", 1/8", or banana?

Monoprice apparently has some inexpensive ones, but I've heard their quality isn't as high as other, slightly more expensive offerings.

Monoprice is probably your cheapest option, as mentioned above.

This can indeed be an issue. I have 4 RCA cables from them & the plugs are falling apart. On the other hand, their USB and HDMI cables are excellent.

RCA plug construction can be a bit funny, so I don't think you'd be putting yourself at a big risk buying a few 3.5mm cables and trying them out.

I have a bunch of those deepsurplus cables too. The build quality on them is not amazing, I have a couple where a plug is not seated quite right and is at a noticeable angle to its housing. It's no big deal, they all work fine, and they are cheap. Wrap the cable with a little color coding sticker on each end and you're set for less than 60 cents each and only a few minutes of work.

this thread is a godsend! today I realized that I will need no less than 100 1/8 inch cables for my next performance, and will probably purchase 200....

this "need" seems entirely rational....

btw, Alex's cables are top notch, I was a little nervous about dropping that much coin on cables.....

yep. when i started my system, i bought 20 of the 24 inch black ones, and they have all held up. my only beef was that they came all tied up, so they are kinked like crazy... i still have yet to figure out a good way to straighten them out. maybe i'll heat them a little with a hair dryer or something.

that said, i eventually ordered some AI ones for different lengths and my white erthenvar order just showed up today. i should be set for a while!
