I wonder if any work has been done on the effect plants have on the sound of a room. I guess if they have luxuriant foliage they could absorb higher frequencies more, and tame an over-bright acoustic.

Could the plants benefit from prolonged exposure to music? It seems to depend on the genre. My cacti seemed to thrive best when I was into acid jazz.

I think there’s some mold growing somewhere in the mess of my mancave. And as a shameless boomer, I can say with absolute conviction that I was playing this shit before it was even cool

Aside from the beret and bongos, I still haven't seen a pic in this thread that shouts "hipster."

Since when are plants/nature a tell tale sign of a hipster?

Maybe the pop culture definition of a hipster has changed and I'm not aware?

As much as I hear people making fun of hipsters, it almost seems as if the new hipster are people who make fun of hipsters.

If I could dedicate a room to my gear and fill it with lots of plants that managed to stay healthy, that would be pretty awesome.

But no

Way beyond just simple potplants here. Behold the books, cables, ornament, and best of all - the carefully aligned pencils and screwdriver.

I covered my windows in aluminum foil. There is zero plant life indoors, unless you count the black mold growing on one of our AC vents (I noticed I'm not the only user with mold issues).

My gear stays inside with me. It collects the hair, dead skin and whiffs of various stale, malodorous excretions I deposit everywhere. Everything is dusted with particles of my corporeal and psychological essence. A fuzzy simulacrum of a rotten soul left unattended, reduced to a foul-smelling, brownish adipose-wax. :miley:

There's nothing "gram-worthy" about this place. It is 100% schizophrenic, non-aesthetic chaos. 100% not-chill. Like lukewarm, raw meat. Just makes people feel uneasy... Squeamish.

At least $15k. The only word I can use to describe their sound is majestic.

Same here.

My CS80 was about to be taken to the dumpster, and my PPG 360 was saved from being gutted as a piece of electronic junk and, consequently, re-cycled.

That was 20+ years ago -- I even remember the days when I was offered a broken R . A. Moog Minimoog, in need of some minor fixes, for a mere 300 Deutschmarks.

I didn't buy it because I had heard terrible stories about tuning issues etc.
