Gum is fun, but not on a cat.

My minds an art gallery.

This thing would be amazing, considering tuning issues are a big problem for poly analog synths like the cough... worthless $8500 new moog one with horrible tuning issues... a ppg clone could still get the benefit of warm vcf/vca but have rock solid tuning.

I would take this over ANY poly on the market.

"We are still far away from a product release as the firmware is extremely complex"

Meaning, "we've got to actually do some R&D work" rather than just copy schematics and design an ugly enclosure caricaturing the original

it’d be nice if they finished some already promised clones first.

they seem to have a bad habit of jumping the gun and rushing through projects and the quality suffers. im not anti-behringer by any means, but im also not a fanboy. i almost look at their stuff as ancillary devices instead of full fledged units. they kinda get the job, but always leave a lot to be desired.

I’m of the same mindset. I posted this as I thought it was a) possible but b)a bit silly seeing as I have yet to see any of the other stuff shipping. I’m glad there are other people who are grey area thinkers instead of the knee jerk black and white reactionaries. I will say, I do enjoy my TD3! I don’t have any of the other stuff.

The TD3 is probably the best unit they made in terms of cloning. I thought the Deepmind was really good too. I thought is was more of an homage than a clone and I’d like to see them continue down that road.

A desert island/dream synth for me. One I will never be able to afford (let alone afford to maintain if I got one for free)...

5% optimistic - I'll believe it when I see it. But a rack - yes please!

id like to see behringer come up with at least a visual identity of their own. PPG is sick but ugly af.

With its nice blue panel and four octaves, I vote for the BBG!

They apparently have a bunch of teams working on different projects - limiting the projects wouldn't improve things much, I doubt 40 engineers working on one synth would be more efficient (or develop a better low budget product) than 4 engineers working on 10 synths.

Synths and samplers without bugs or "issues" regardless of company size and price point seem to be few and far between

Annoying early development cycle teases aside, if they launch this and get the sound right I really think they should be applauded.

Ps still waiting on the rd9 and Oberheim clone to launch.

The pictures that were released with the announcement that they’re working on a PPG ‘homage’ (it’s also stated that development will take a long time due to ‘extremely complex firmware’) :

They also said it was sounding good so far. So they must have been on it a while already maybe?

I wish they would do CR78, but I just don’t think it has mass appeal. The 2600 is what I’m waiting for. Not super interested in anything else.

Until it is actually listed in Sweetwater and Thomann, it's another Beepfake.
