twin rack FX unit? (w/ stereo?)

Post by MrTurboparrot » Thu Jul 30, 2020 6:54 am

Hi All,

I'm looking for a budget rack FX unit that has TWIN independent signal paths.

I've stumbled on the digitech quad, quad v2, and (not sure if this is right) the quad studio (blue face?).

Anyway, are there other options like this out there? All the lexicon and TC stuff seems to be 2 in 2 out (stereo), but not 4 in, 4 out...

I'm looking for something at the 100-150 GBP range (less if possible!)

cheers

The ol' Boss SE-50 (and its later update, the -70) are half-rack units that have many true stereo fx chains or single programs. I have two, racked side-by-each. Still use 'em, in my case for multi-input drum machine processing; and its vocoder is great. Probably in the 'harder to find' versus 'cheap as nuts' category; but if you do, it'll be cheap. And good.

boss SE-50.... never even heard of it - but that has potential. 2 side by side, and around 50-70 quid each?! very tempting, thanks. DP4 is out of my price range

a real beast of a unit but the days of those being considered budget are long gone.

Didn’t know that prices raised so much. Got mine for about hundred bucks about 10 years ago, still use it, very flexible and powerful. There were also dp2, but I think it’s not dual machine unit, just stereo.

It isn't, but like Eventide, who also makes boxes that do multiple effects on multiple channels, it might be out of your price range.

I'm curious why you want two separate stereo effects in the same box. Couldn't you just buy two boxes?
