Has there been any mention of improvements for the touch plates for people that were unloved by the OG Rene and Pressure Pants?
This is fixed in René 2 so there's no reason it's not fixed here too
Good news, thanks.

This was quick...
wait this video just taught me that the 0-coast has dynamic gate volume response. I had no idea.
How can I send diff gate "strengths" from my modular to it like the 0-control does? anyone know?
woudl gate Width from Pam's do anything?
You would modulate level on Pam's.
Just add a VCA controlling the output strength of any gate to get this effect.

to me this product is dope , however, if money was no object and I have a modular already, I feel you're covered with Rene 2 + PP . However, if I only had a 0-coast I would certainly purchase this

Is that a joke?!? Maybe you have an SUM/offset function available somewhere? (Maths?) It should work the same way, "negative offset + strength sequence + gate" should give you your scaled gates sequence.

So, if you don't have Rene or PP yet and you already have some Make Noise modules do you:

A) Put Rene and PP in your case

B) Save some HP in your case and go with 0-Coast

In theory, while you wouldn't get as complex sequences, you can save money:

Rene $525
PP $215
Total $740

0-Ctrl $399

You could also go used on PP and Rene (and save even more money getting a Rene MK1). Million ways to get there. :-)

I've been toying with the idea of getting the R*S TKB to go with a case of euroserge, but at close to £2k opportunity cost comes into it. You could get two of these (plus a switch) to match the 16 steps of the tkb for less than half the price. Lose on some features, gain on others.

Is that a joke?!? Maybe you have an OR function available somewhere? (Maths?) It should work the same way, "strength sequence OR gate" should give you your scaled gates sequence.
That's not what an OR function does. It outputs the maximum voltage.

What you need is Gate * Strength, so a VCA. There are probably other ways, but not with an OR fonction I think. More like an AND if it exists in the modular world.

Or with a good sequencer you could just use a CV output that can be deactivated as a gate with variable voltage.

Sorry, you're right, I was editing it but you came first :) I was writing for memory, what I was thinking about was using the Maths OR output while summing gate and strength CV. Exploiting the fact that the OR output never goes below zero, you can dial a negative offset and get the desidered scaled gate. But I'm writing from memory again!

The more videos I watch the more this is like PP+Brains V2, in its own case.
Considering how much 2xPP + Brains cost, this is not such a bad deal.

Hainbach video had sensitivity issues and "future him" used a screwdriver to adjust the sensitivity...painfull memories indeed.
Waiting for some official confirmation on the touch plates...they would not use the terrible PP/Rene mk1 plates surely.

I'd rather have seen pots for expression level plus small buttons below to 'play' that step, but goes against MN design pattern I guess. Built in quantization would have been ace as well. Still a very interesting proposition, well done MN.

Threads show sorted last-post-first. Last time I looked it was the top thread in the General Gear section.

Oh, didn’t realize it was moved. I’m still seeing it in the eurorack sub where it is falling to the bottom.

Bit irritating you couldn't put an 0-Coast and an 0-Ctrl side by side actually touching (to save space) ... they've both got the power inlet on the left hand side

Just want to come out and admit I was wrong here, I had heard about something else that must have been shelved. This is cool, but for those who have pressure points and brains, especially those with CV-able clock modules, it’s probably not as exciting.

I had a Brains and 2x PP for a short while, and it was a lot of fun to sequence that way -- but it was lots of HP and the touchplates were a problem.

This seems like exactly that combination but with (presumably) improved touchplates, its own clock, and the dynamic gates and envelopes, in a nice package I can put right next to my 16n -- where my SQ-1 is right now, mostly (or entirely?) replacing it.

The one nice thing about the SQ-1, besides size and price, is you can run the two rows with different step lengths. But I could always keep my SQ-1 and continue to do that, running it alongside the 0-Ctrl. :)

This is excellent-- will definitely get one. This kind of sequencer is exactly to my taste for things like weird sound effects sequencing, techno, maybe even drones depending on how fast it goes.

hmmm this might just scratch my itch for a TKB or at least for half of one. But i could also just grab a soon to be cheap 2nd PP...

Just pre-ordered at Control NYC if anybody was interested. Not sure if other sites have put up for pre-order yet.

This is pretty interesting. I’m digging the funky time stretching and gate strengths. Good thing I didn’t spring for a PP/Brains last month

Exactly. Very very similar. Some added standalone clocking features, and assorted little differences. It would be nice to see a very precise list of little differences, but unless MN provides one, we’ll have to wait until 0-Control is in the wild.
