I do love the look of the BARP 2500 series. The only Behringer euro module I have so far is the sequential switch in the Model 55 series (and their Model D). I've been impressed by the look and feel of it.

The 960 is not expected before October (per Sweetwater). Who knows when it will actually arrive. So, it will be months before the 2500 modules are available. Hopefully, more info will be available before it's time to choose.

R.E. quality and authenticity. I was pretty impressed with the model D that I bought from Behringer. It's small, but the look is there, so is the sound.
I've had some time using a 1975 Model D. The sound is very close.
Also, Rob Keeble's assistance with the project is an impressive credential. I've got a few of his units.
BTW, I'm making further comments on the Behringer 2500 module in the Behringer ARP 2500 modules thread.

(I posted this on another KARP 2600 thread but wanted to see if anyone here might have helpful info)

Hey All,

Is there anyone in Canada still waiting for a "confirmed" order? My retailer was told they would get get a "guaranteed" one and I am on the top of (and only one on) their list. Obviously a pandemic and the distribution/ manufacturing? issues have slowed and delayed things but my contact at the retailer, who's amazing and is a great friend, keeps getting a shrug or non response from Korg Canada. I still have hope and patience but its starting to dwindle. If its not in the cards, then I'm getting a Prophet 6 and an RME Babyface FS/Fender EOB Stratocaster/Moog Grandmother instead. So any leads in the Great White North?

The day after the news came out I called my favorite dealer to order me one. A day later he called back and said that they're all gone. There were only 8 here in Switzerland. What a bummer... only 8!!??

Another day later he called again, that he found the last one, not yet sold, in Lausanne. Had to pay a reservation fee. 6 months later it finally arrived. What a happy day it was. Not regretting one cent.

The ARP2600 was the only other dream synth I wanted besides the Minimoog, for decades. I would never pay those horrendous vintage prices, only for a brand new unit.

I think the the ARP reissue is limited. The distributors told my dealer, that there won't be any more units. That was January. Who knows if Korg decided differently now.

As an early adopter of MS20 mini, Odyssey and later MS20M Korg has made me cynical to they're business doing small prdouction runs and color scenes. I would just sit back and wait for it come back in stores and later drop in price devaluing early stocks.
I don't think this is going to happen with the ARP2600 FS.

No, but a mini version might. They allowed for this by tacking the "FS" on the model name, so someone there must have at least had it in mind.

While I don't disagree with your speculation a mini might still come, i fail to see the logic behind this oft-repeated they wouldn't use the FS if there weren't a mini coming.

The FS is significant whether or not a mini is -or ever was- involved. Especially from a company with a history of reduced size repros.
It also differentiates between KARP and ARP.
Treat utility modules as stars instead of backup singers.
Treat power supplies like Rockstars instead of roadies!
Chase magic sound, not magic parts.

Up until now have they released a synth with the "FS" appended when they didn't release a mini version?

And note I'm not claiming the "FS" means a mini is definitely coming. I'm just pointing out they've intentionally named things to allow for that later. I.e. they have it in mind, less than a commitment, but more than not a possibility.

LOL, so KARP 2600 is the FS. Thought of a mini version or some clone

I heard this Korg 2600 has been rated as the top synth for gear flippers in 2020. Impressive value features

I love it to the death. It's an awesome synth. Truely a legend.

The only thing I miss is that the arp/sequencer is not syncable.

Completely agree. Such a great synth and I absolutely love mine.

I don't see it not being syncable as a problem. Would it be a nice feature? sure, but its an amazing instrument as is.

It's definitely not a killer for me, no. I just use another sequencer, we're actually modular here

I haven't yet checked it out, but we could record/patch the clock of the sequencer (LFO pulse). That could sync the rest. I'd like to feed my Multiclock with it. Wonder if this will work, since the Multiclock expects 24PPQN. Guess I have to work around that somehow.

The 1601 sequencer clones are fantastic and play nicely with the 2600. Highly recommended even if you have modular sequencers.

Wasn't aware of that sequencer. Had a quick look, from 1100 to 1500 USD. That is definitely too much for me for "yet another" sequencer. I cannot justify that price for my situation, although it looks gorgeous and I bet it's awesome to play. Even if I justified the price, I wouldn't have any space left to put that in ;)

I found out about the karp 2600 far too late for pre-orders and asked my sweewater rep to put me on the pre-order cancellation list as a hail mary in early march. I've bugged my rep every few weeks since with the normal message of 'still waiting' each time. Rep called and left a voicemail saying there was no update to be had yesterday afternoon.... 30 minutes later the rep sent an email saying a spot opened had just opened up and it was ready to ship. In theory it ships later today for arrival Friday. Woot.

I haven't seen how to do that here on Muff... That would be awesome if we could.

And this would be the other way. When your response is not directly below hte thing you want to reference.

When adding something along the lines of FB's "like" response has been brought up -I've done so before- it's been shot down hard and quickly. Saying if yah want that go to FB. Not here!

Not sure if it is accurate, but one shows "IN STOCK usually ships within 24 hours!" here. Worst case call if you were really after one of these.

I waited 6 months, it was worth the wait. That beast will last forever anyway, so try to not be in a hurry after purchasing :hihi:

interesting one. if you do a search for it on their website it says "more stock November 2020." which could mean something. or it could just be a default value populated by their database...

I use the LFO square wave output on the 3620 keyboard to generate sync for other gear. Most notable, I sync my SQ-1 to the ARP in this manner. Works well. Nice side benefit is you can then clock the sq-1 at a rate far greater than the sq-1 can generate natively.
