We might as well get the discussion started. Supposedly it's to be released early 2020 :nana:

It's been a long time since someone wrote a really good book in jail.

Very cool. Sounds like JMJ is in the loop, so I assume he is right. I love my K(ARP) and am really looking forward to the K(ARP) 2600.

When did JMJ turn into Jim Keltner?

I guessing this will be around $2000, I'm hoping I'm wrong but given the FS odyssey it seems reasonable. I wonder if a keyboard will also be part of the package?

$2000 even without keyboard would be a no-brainer for me. I know this will likely elicit howls of protest but I'd prefer they ditch the speakers and use the real estate for something more useful.

I wonder what will be the Behringer answer to this one...maybe a dramatically lower price? maybe nothing?...their 2600 prototype looks really good and it´s a nice format for people that prefer it smaller and rack/desktop-friendly

I think behringers response is stay the course. Theirs will be 1/3 the price and they’ll sell 5x as many.

Head, studio space and wallet say wait for the Behringer. Heart says buy the first one released.

If it's the Korg, pick the Behringer up later. Other way around, probably stick with the Behringer.

Later to change mind and buy the FS Korg too, 'cos it's a 2600.

Phenomenal news if it's true.....

I don't care if the Behringer is 1/5th of the price, I will buy the Korg version.

Me too.

Isn't the grey version different in filter and sound than the planned BARP BORANGE one?

I bet both will have all the filter revisions, like in the Odyssey

Was about to get an ARP Odyssey FSQ on sale but damn, I'm just gonna wait. Maybe I'll buy two Korg/ARP 2600s!

If Behringer releases a clone, maybe I'll buy 3 Korg/ARPs to support the OG designers and see what kind of cool new designs they can come up with.

Crystal Ball time: both B and K will give the option of all filters, like they both did with the Odyssey. The difference will be format and price.

Korg is going to go for the vintage look and feel as well as sound - It will be like their Odyssey FS or the Moog mini-reissue.

B. will do a modern clone. It will be smaller (they were talking rack mount) and have the B add-ons, like a sequencer and possibly analog distortion, chorus, digital effects, etc.

Hopefully Korg finishes first and they can’t clone/steal an in production synth from the original company

I like how specific he is about revisions, and how enthusiastic he remains. He's a man who cared about his 2600 sounds, so I am happy to pay attention. Hope he's right, this would would be dangerous to many wallets.

2019 has felt like the worst timeline sometimes, but I do like the slightly surreal feel of a major release leak coming from JMJ.

I want to believe this because i dislike Behringer's tactics, but how does that explain them robbing the Model D when the reissue from Moog was still new and freshly out in the world.
