It's a Behringer version of the Volca bass.
They will call it Balsa Bass.
It will retail for $19.99.

That’s a lot of switches
We don't want to conquer space at all. We want to expand Earth endlessly. We don't want other worlds; we want a mirror.

If it's not a Pro One clone I'd be very confused.

Some people on here will be itching to call it the Pro-Bono. I'm just happy the chinese are flowering, post socialist winter.

The very existence of Behringer pisses certain people off, no matter what the company does. :hihi:

Matrixsynth has a board comparison with a Pro-One

It seems like it's going to be a eurorack-compatible module, ala the Model D.

haters gonna hate. and if you follow some gearslutz threads, every synth they make, or announce/tease, pisses off a lot of people. i like what uli is doing. i don't even think it's about business for him but because he really loves vintage synths. people who spent $10000 for a j8 may think differently :hihi:

I really wish companies would get serious and quit with the teaser/take a guess BS. Just show me your product, and let me know why i'd benefit from buying it. Straight face, no jokes, no acting like a child. This approach alone would likely get my money.

Welcome to marketing and advertising. Infantilisation is an important strategy.

:tu: Very much this.

I love the fact though Behringer is using technology to replicate what others seem to have forgotten that they own. Funny shit, but nothing was stopping these other guys from putting this stuff out and utilizing more modern methods and manufacture. This is what is driving the price down more than anything else really. The other companies deserve to have the their market share eaten. There has been a decade or two to re-release this stuff in many cases and shame on the others for not jumping on the opportunity. For this reason alone I don't give a damn if something is a clone or not honestly. NOW if the patent hasn't run out on a given thing fine, but so so many of these things are well out of reach to make these sort of claims... OR the companies have folded since then and lost their stake in the game.

Gah, yes. I mean, they had me sold on the Model D the moment they announced the pricetag; why jerk us around when you can just go "oh, here's this thing that's old, expensive, and hard to come by, we're gonna sell the same thing new for a fraction of the price?"

A 1V/oct Synthi would really annoy the purists.
