Multi-tier stands

Post by kohpnyn » Sat Feb 17, 2018 2:29 pm

I'm looking for some kind of solution to have a few small machines and my mixer on a multi tiered stand.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
I've had a look at the jaspers stuff, but it's pretty expensive. If there's nothing cheaper and decent though...

I love it but i'd knock it over.

I used to have the bottom stand of a triple keyboard stand with a bunch of stuff on it, and have a lower table that fits just beneath the stand with more on it. I still have the same setup but had to add a 2nd real table since I got a 3rd keyboard synth.

I wouldn't go with Jaspers for anything less than full-size keyboards or a studio desk, but in the event you do, it's best to purchase through thomann.de. They have better pricing than the OEM.

If you have access to tools have you ever thought about building a stand(s) yourself?

Small company called Waves makes a bunch of different ones. I don't have any yet, but might get one of their stands instead of using a piece of wood like I do now.

You can find them on Reverb too.

I went to Home Depot.

Got me some MDF and some two-by-fours. A box of nails and some gorilla glue.

The two-by-fours were a little rough, so I threw in some painter's putty, some primer and paint in home depot orange and metallic blue.

To seal in the top, I added some shellac.

Oh, and to set up the right kind of patterns I used some masking tape.

Ain't nobody got synth trays on their rig like mine. No, sir.

Man. Every time I previously saw Jaspers I got a severe gear organization boner but was ultimately deterred by the price. Have they gone down? I swear they used to be like at least 400 bucks for a multi tier...

Now I'm re-aroused, dammit.

Yeah those Jaspers are the business.
I've had some severe mishaps caused by crappy A frame keyboard stands in the past. The only way I'd be tempted to go that route again would be something like the ones Jasper's make.
I especially like the 'hifi racks' that they make. Kind of like a very narrow keyboard stand.

I could imagine a pair of these with my drum machines and monosynths etc on either side of my DAW setup.
A full width keyboard stand might be cheaper to mount the same amount of gear. Except for my Novation SL MKII none of the stuff I have is wide enough to warrant such a huge stand. I'd end up having to add pieces of wood or metal shelving to get my Elektrons, Rolands and Korgs to sit 3 and 4 across.

Subbing to this thread, I need something to hold my 6U on my desk about 9" or so above the tabletop so it clears my sub37
