Can you believe someone shipped a buchla like this?

Discussing some incredible modules that don't quite fit into the other forum categories.

Positive update!

Seller is working out brand new sides to be shipped to me from Buchla.

The case was shipped empty, so no modules were in peril. I got out the multimeter and obsessively tested every contact on the busboards and power supply and everything checked out ok. The boat bent back into shape once I got some modules in there. Everything is up and running fine :-)

The seller is really going out of his way to make things right. Im happy this is all working out. Thanks for all the support everyone :bananaguitar:

Years ago I bought an Access Virus TI full size keyboard on ebay. Seller literally put it in a box loose with some paper towels thrown in! When it arrived I notified UPS and they came and took it back. Seller never replied on ebay. Ebay and Paypal did nothing to help. Finally I just had UPS return it to me after it sat in their warehouse for weeks not knowing what to do with it. Luckily the thing is built like a tank and there was no damage!

Hope your luck works as well as mine did! :tu:

these pics dont surprise me. professional packing stores are often horrible.
even when you give them detailed instructions on your packing requirements.

I imagine it was insured through mailboxes etc? I hope that the seller is recouping his losses here.

Just to be clear, that is NOT how Buchla ships our stuff and it was a private party transaction. I actually had somebody question me about this.....ugh!

P.S. We're actually working with the people involved to help get them new cheeks. Good times!

Love a happy ending. Extra points for Djangosfire!
This is not the place I'd imagined it to be.

Sorry man, that's just typical though. My Mini Moog Reissue was "professionally packed" and was delivered in an opened cardboard box with three large torn holes in it. I was shitting myself a couple of weeks later when my Easel was delivered as I was scared the same thing would happen again, but luckily, it didn't. I sold a pair of large Spendor Monitors to someone in Hong Kong, they had them picked up from me by a shipping company, it turned out that all they did was wrap a thin layer of bubble wrap around them!
If you want anything delivered securely you have to pack it yourself, don't trust shipping companies.

anyone who uses ONLY large size bubblewrap to pack ANYTHING needs to be tarred and feathered. its only effective as a top layer to a MINIMUM of 3 layers of regular bubble. its a space filler and not dense enough for corners.
this probably would have been just as smashed up in a box with that turd wrap
