My serge live set

Post by tIB » Mon Oct 02, 2017 1:37 pm

Short set on a three panel set up at the Optronica night in Sheffield. Thanks to Phil bluewolfse7en, who played a great euro set that can be found in his feed too, for recording.

Really awesome sounds! Love the plucking and phasing type sounds I'm hearing.

Damn tIB! :sb: You are always on top of your game. Beautiful case too. What is the white gizmo next to the synth and mixer?

Just scored Papier Machete on Bandcamp. Perusing the catalog.

Sorry for the late reply - missed those responses. Thanks both, the white box is the wood encased lep multicassa, which handles the bass drum and couple of other rhythmic bits. A cool little box.

:hail: very, very excellent performance tIB!

:tu: i really liked the 2 or 3 second rest @around 2:25, and then the shift to slower tempo.

and it strangely made me think of kraftwerk's 'pocket calulator' (which is probably my favorite song of theirs) overall (i might even suggest titling it 'desktop calculator' if you attempt performing the same patch again).

cheers

Thanks very much all, I think that's he first time any of my noise messes have been compared to kraftwerk! Sadly the patch is long gone - tore this one down without even doing a post set run through, which listening back is something of a shame as it should have been twice as long with an extra part or two: at the time I was a bit disappointed with the set as felt I underdeveloped bits and missed a couple of direction changes. Need to hit the modulars again soon... I've been busy/productive but in different ways.
