Very jealous of your Modcan setup. I've been trying to find out more about Modcan, but there seems to be limited stuff out there (other than the module descriptions and sound examples on the Modcan page and old threads here on Muffs).

This is not the place I'd imagined it to be.

Mini banana setup, but capable of so much. :tu:

I finally have a modular again after a long time of not being able to build. I actually posted a pic of the panel itself a while back, but now it's fully built, calibrated, and usable. It's also a test-bed for a new set of PCBs. Half of a new lineup. (the other half will be in another panel) It's been nice to build again.

This is great! The Double Knot seems to excel at making these forest and jungle sounds.

These were great! Just when I thought I didn't need a double knot!

I keep coming back to this as one of my favorite spaces. It feels light and airy like sheer curtains caught in a breeze. I fear that if it was my room, it would be stuffed to the gills with tables of gear and cases of modules mounted to a wall angling down on me. And an ironing board or some other multi-use room crap in another corner. It must take some zen restraint to decide on your perfect tool is and stick with it.

I've been trying to move in this direction. I made a few choices, sold and traded some of my bulkiest synths and put a couple others in storage. I was proud of just getting it down to one a little bit sparse wall of gear, but it still feels pretty cluttered with boxes of wires and other bric-a-brac on the floor, modules puled for repair and pcb's I'll never build strewn around the tables, and a pretty soul-crushing 29U rack that really just houses a mixer and one synth. I should print this pic out and tack it to the wall for awhile. :hihi:

Have the same desire. Wish for a large empty wooden table in the middle of a large room just a small rack with enough to mix/record. The rest stored somewhere out of sight, so that I can bring out only the few things I want to work with, at a time. Alas, same thing. Tried doing an experiment with a table in my studio and got cluttered in no time — stuff just multiplies like bunnies.

Yes that pic is inspiring...

maybe the attic looks like that because the rooms below are stuffed to the gills with gear? :)

Nice setup and nice stand — what kind of stand is that?

agreed - that setup looks wonderful (also interested in the stand and the adapters (or whatevers on the edges...)

here's what I am working with these days - bit messier than that sleek rack...

How do you like the Double Knot? I have one, but have not managed to make it fit with my setup/flow.

to be honest, i have gone back and forth. i have also had some difficulty feeling like i could meaningfully integrate it into my workflow - even though i have had lots of fun with it on its own and like a lot about it. one more recent thing was using it to cross patch with the drm2 (sometimes triggering it from the dk) - this opened up some pretty wild sonic territory, and also got me using it more as a kind of controller with my other gear than primarily as an "audio-rate" sound source... I kept finding myself pulling out the audio out cable and focusing more on it controlling other things. i guess i am still on the fence about it, but there is a lot i still like about it as a self contained entity (lots of fun potential and great to travel with due to its compact size and smart design)... here are some random shots of things i messed around with a few months back if you are interested - would love to hear other people's thoughts on this too.

Thanks. It's a guitar amp stand slightly modified. I got a full fourth boat and now I need the rethink how to put everything together. I wishes I would have chosen the XL boats from random source with six 4x4 panels.
The black diy sidebars are attenuators and some eurorack / banana converters. The “build-in” attenuators for my work are not sensitive enough, so most of the time I connect another in a row where I can define the range as well.
