Buchla 208 Build

Post by we_squirm » Tue Jun 20, 2017 4:56 pm

Hey all! I'm starting to source parts for my Buchla 208 build. Excuse me if this is the wrong spot for this, but on this BOM for the motherboard: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0388/ ... 4855035085

I'm trying to play my order for things from Small Bear, and apparently I need a bunch of pots, which the BOM states:

10K-100K LIN
10K-100K LOG
10K-100K LIN

And when I try and order them from the Small Bear website http://smallbear-electronics.mybigcomme ... -pc-mount/
It tells me to state the value. I have an option for 10k or 100k, but what exactly does 10k-100k LIN mean? which pot should I be ordering? Sorry but I'm a little confused.

10K-100K just means that any value between 10K ohms and 100K ohms will work fine.

You can use my BOM as reference, which should be mostly accurate for the current 2.1 PCBs, just double check things. I made some substitutions for discontinued parts.

I used MeatCliff's BOM for my 2.1 build - it was really helpful!! Only point to note is I think Roman has changed the recommended caps to easier to find variants (I used MeatCliff's tho as I'd shopped early...!)

That's a long way of saying - THANKS Meatcliff :guinness:

great. and last question, the 10k-100k LOG pot, does that mean audio pot?

on the small bear website there is no option for log.

http://smallbear-electronics.mybigcomme ... -pc-mount/

you can buy linear, audio, or reverse audio

Log, Audio, and A are all the same thing.

.... and, just so you are aware, Lin and B are the same thing (i.e. a linear taper as opposed to a logarithmic taper)
