Serge molex power connector question

Post by jamb » Tue Dec 23, 2014 9:43 pm

I just have a single panel and a ps2a, however the power cables coming out of both the panel and the ps2a are both male connectors. I'd rather not purchase a distro board since I only run a single panel. That seems unecessary and clunky...Is there an alternative product or method such as a female-female molex adapter? Any input is much appreciated, thanks!

I'm not familiar with Serge power requirements so I don't know how many pins you need and if using an adapter is even the correct thing to use or not but for what it's worth there are 4 pin adapters easily found, probably intended for computer use etc. Here's one on eBay (and I know knothing about this seller or if the product is what you need):

I use exactly the same cable as this one. I found it in an old pc. You only need to cut the right angle on one side of the plugs to plug it in your serge males.

If you prefer to order from mouser the right one (with the right angle), here are the references you'll need after you found the wire you need:

female plug (plastic housing only, you'll need the pins too):

female pin (you'll need 8 of them):

Just cut a F-F adapter out of an old dell family computer. :tu:
