606 DIY'ers?
Hey guys... curious if anybody knows if the radioshack 3 prong 1/8" jacks are normaly closed or open? I'm trying to do the individual out mod and fuck... I can get the jack to send out the signal or the master out. It's supposed to be where no matter what the master out sends signal except for when you plug a cable into the pertaining jack which cuts out that signal and gives it to you at that cable.

happen to have a picture of the mod on yours? LOL. You do any other mods to your 606? this thing is a beast with my modular. A fucking beast I say.... My dream is soon to sync the bent hr-16 to the new blaced midi/cv and sync that with the outs on the 606. Imagine all the filtering and automation on the beats?
i can take a photo but at the moment i cant really be bothered opening it up as when i did it last time it took awhile to get all back together. once i have a clear desk ill do it no probs.
i think i might convert mine to have trigger outs instead of drum tracks. i dont really see the point of indivual outs on the 606. the drum sounds are nice a complete as a unit, they dont really have much flare by themselves.
from memory all you do with this mod is add the jacks to the back panel, then chain the output from the pots to the jacks and then from the jacks to where they currently join the master channel mixer. i didnt do the mod on mine but i opened it up to check it out a few times.

well... my thing about individual outs is.... I can send each sound out to different modules or pedals... go to a few mixers and sum them back to 1 or 2 tracks. OR! Once you get them all sounding badass, one at a time dump them into my daw and line up the loop. Just trying to mess with the signal in a cool way. (snare into a miniwave, kick into a fuzz factory, hi hats into a polivoks and toms into a malgorithm for example) It's my plan and I'm sticking to it, lol. I like the fact that it has 2 trigger outs already.

does anybody have any information on adding 5 trigger outs?!?!?!?!? Analogue Solutions site has it listed as a mod... wondering if we could just DIY it. If that's the case... I might as well have a 2nd 606 JUST to use as a sequencer for my modular (with all the trigger outs!) then have another 606 for sounds...
ALSO! How/Where do we attempt to buy the Analogue Solutions kits/mods if we aren't able to find diy info for it.

BD = Q15
SD = Q18
CY = Q29
OH = Q27
CH = Q22
Attach to the middle pin of each Q, and wire with common ground.
Conntact Tom at ASol direct if you want the kit.
I'm planning on adding the 5 trigger outs to my 606 some time soon.

thanks for the buffer suggestion. I'll keep that in mind when I get around to modding it.

Yeah it's pretty lame like a lot of their stuff... You can't really use more than a couple trig outs at once or it draws to much juice...Luka wrote:ive heard the AS mods are unbuffered and it can really mess with the machine when you use all the triggers. perhaps try out putting a tranistor in series as a buffer
