Ian Fritz Dual AD/AR - substitute Resistors?

Post by mightycoco » Tue Sep 08, 2020 2:26 am

Hi Guys,

Just building a Ian Fritz Dual AD/AR (http://www.timorozendal.com/files/ianfr ... ematic.pdf)

I just ran out of 2k2 resistors - 2 left :(
Can I substitute the 2k2 with 2k resistors in this circuit?

thanks,
MC

Yes. Preferably at R11,12 or R15 A.B which will only mean your LEDs are little brighter.

The divider of R11,12 will be the same voltage with either 2K or 2k2 in both positions. I'd leave R5 alone, but it could probably be changed too.

Choosing the LEDs R15's means you won't disrupt any 'match' belween the two circuits. People often bodge in extra resistors or change values there to adjust brightness anyways.

Oh, R11, R12, R15 or only for LEDs and out? Hm, the LEDs on my first build are way to bright anyway. So maybe I can do with a 3k3 or 4k7 on R15 to dim that strobe light, too :)

Thanks!
