Been busy with life and other projects, have been playing around with a 5U height module version of the Calrec PQ1549 and a new DJ mixer design. The Biphase is working 100% now though. I have a list of changes to roll out in a Rev.2 PCB but am yet to implement anything on the files. This unit will be heading to a friend for feedback now. Here is a suitably crass iPhone video, I was playing misc youtube videos and I think this is a Dereck May 909 demo. Distortion is partly coming from the speakers, they are crap-ola Logitech PC 2.1 that are somehow bulletproof.

Just a question regarding this: "Effect bypass is achieved using relays rather than the opto based system in the original. "

Will this be clickless? Ie, no audible clicks when bypassing.
The relay operates much faster than a footswitch, so the biggest cause for concern in this regard is the tone changing when bypassed. The original runs the signal through 4 opamp stages even when bypassed and this results in low end rolloff - not really an issue with an electric guitar. For my use this is a studio effect and not a guitar pedal, so I lent toward having a 100% wire bypass rather than the original approach (trying to mitigate switching noise). That said at home I tried stomping on the pedal a few times whilst playing some audio and couldn't hear popping noise though those foot switches are mechanically quite loud.

I appreciate all the interest and the kind words! Still no timeframe!

Very nice work!

We have clone boards for the BiPhase over at Dead End FX as well. We carry two versions; completely stock (Lola Phase - Original), for use with the Mutron Opti Pot pedal, and a DEFX version (Lola Phase - DEFX), which is modified to use a B1M pot for pedal control.

You're more than welcome to download the build documents for them, we have a fairly detailed tuning guide for the BiPhase, much of which was gleaned from original factory documents, and added insights courtesy of Mike Both of Prophecysound. Speaking of which... Infinitphase clone PCB's are currently in production.

I just finished building a dead end FX lola. I’ve never played with the real thing in person but I’ve listened to a ton of old Lee Perry and this sounds pretty incredible. Had a ton of fun last night sending TTSH oscillators into the cv input.

Huzzah.

I've been wildly busy the past few weeks, I teach tertiary level and reformatting the material for online delivery has been a huge task. However, Rev.2 PCBs of this project has now been ordered.

Corrected a few errors and made a few small changes. Firstly, the original bypass method has been reinstated. Finally had a chance to play around with an original Biphase and whilst the unit is a complete tonesuck when bypassed, the LDR slew when turned on and off added a nice fade in and out that was ultimately worth preserving.

Board are in the mail, I'll make noise when I have them built up.

It is a large project, my final(ish) BOM contains 353 parts across 79 lines.

Beautifull project. Are there any benefits like a more original sound compared to the Duo-Phase from PedalPCB.com?

Oh damn, I'm hosting them in my google account as it looks like the forum isn't hosting images internally anymore - Is that the case or am I just missing it after the facelift? What is a good hosting site?

Doh! I missed the Attachments section. This should work:

This isn't something I can comment on as I've not used that project before. I can say that my version has a grand total of zero changes to the schematic, outside of the power supply. I'm using a linear supply with LM317/LM337 and added decoupling caps on each rail next to each opamp.
