Blue Lantern Tadpole Seq.?

Post by bog » Thu Oct 10, 2013 12:09 am

Has anyone tried the Tadpole Sequencer? Interested, but Web info makes it kind of sound like you need TWO of them in order to really have some creative results…and then there's the expander. Can just ONE unit result in cool, creative sequencing? Thanks -

I have one and using just this one is great. U get interesting divisions onboard and a variable cv internal clock. I think u only need two sequencers if u wanted to do bizzare stuff. Because the one I have is very musical. It's a good investment. I also got the expander switches to add muting gates.

woah, I was totally unaware of BL's BS…what's another good (not too crazy expensive) sequencer, hopefully 16 step, but I'm open minded…
Appreciate it -

Tiptop Z8000, Rene, Simpleseq (I think, at least the new Orbital one is 16 steps) Oberkorn. Mattson/Div6 one ($900+ though)

Not too many do a full 16 unless you get into digital sequencers without knobs for controlling each step. There are quite a few more such as the Modcan Touch, Seq02, Autobot, Kilpatrick makes one as well, etc.

There is Chronos 16, by VBrazil Systems, which doubles as a pseudo keyboard:

You can make any two row sequencer do 16 with a switch.

People not in the know need to be reminded where their hard earned money could possibly go. Blame BL, not people upset by his unbelievable bullshit.

I couldn't help but namedrop the Baboon as soon as litigation came up. I couldn't care less for BL modules because of the bare PCB aesthetics. Why people still bother with these cheap-ass looking stuff is beyond me. :despair:

edit

There you go. Another BL thread and we have both a "fuck BL" and "BL modules panels suck" post in no time.

I know I was a little apprehensive about the BL controversy that erupted.
What concerned me, was not BL's quality or reputation or ethics.
What bothered me was seeing a rehash of Peter Grenadier(sp?), or god help us a Cynthia zeroscillator meltdown, or whoever else.
It really seems pointless to trash an individual when these other cases have been forgiven or forgotten.
people suck.
people making modules for the goofballs that like this stuff are a commodity, precious or not so much, depending on how nice their products and service.
I think BL's aesthetics have given us some visual options that for the most part remind me of leprosy.
Not that lepers deserve to be slagged, just
something about those colors and way too many jacks on a panel.
certainly the cost effective pricing has disappeared...
But the lynch mob behavior seems so unnecessary.
Even when someone goes after this grand assembly, just ignore them.
that will do more psychic damage in the short run.
sorry, its a shame when people fuck over other people
this place is fucking awesome. an island paradise on the trash heap the internet is.

I have a blue lantern Tricore VCO and a new Spacemoth V2 VCF and I'm very happy with the quality, value and sound / functionality of these modules.

I've recieved nothing but excellent service from Blue lantern dealers.

Perhaps this is because I bought these modules after all the controversy ended.

best,

This conversation happens every few weeks. IMHO I think guys who don't want to be involved with BL should just avoid him and his modules. I don't think we need 'moral police'. He did bad in the past but as far as I know, conversation about his modules is not banned on the board, so let it happen.

If you really feel the need to keep it at the front of everybody's mind, why not just ask for a sticky?

Anyway, are we saying that if someone screws up they should never, under any circumstances, be forgiven? Thankfully you guys don't run the penal system...

Demo's of the Spacemoth are what got me curious about euro. I never got one but I have a Asteroid BD V4. It's an awesome module. I even like the aesthetic.

Does this thing have a PCB-mount switch soldered to the front panel? LOL

No, switches are soldered to the other PCB. Mine feels solid. I am happy with mine.

Step and Reset All look like PCB mount momentary switches, soldered directly to the front panel in this photo:

You say they're not?

Oh, I meant the toggle switches. Yeah the tactile buttons are on the front panel. They have a nice feel to them, I have no complaints myself about having them on the front panel.

Yeah, and accounts with just a few posts who almost only participated in threads about BL modules (praising them) are not suspect at all... :despair:

i like my blue lantern duo vca. i just swapped out the big knobs for smaller ones and i think it looks fine more than that it functions well and i like having mute switches for each vca..also the panner option is fun..that sequencer looks chill
