I think it would look great in aluminium, not sure about white but haven't seen any pictures. The black is pretty slick.

You know, at first I didn't care about this. But since I'm considering swapping my PPs for the Intellijel Metropolis, getting rid of the other big black module would be kind of cool. Too bad its not in aluminum!

:hmm: but if the panel were aluminum, rene would need new touch sensors (since a metal surface would just short out the sensor traces)... an fsr-padded rene would be pretty awesome, now i stop and think about it... :deadbanana:

cheers

Isn't there a plastic faux aluminum finish, like Qu.one used in the past? Perhaps something like that would work...

Just saw them up on AH now. Not for sale yet though...

Kelly offered me the limited white as option to matte black in my MN system.
I went for it even finding the matte nicer, because i intend to ay live with it a lot. Its easier to see it ithe dark.

I just got a white Rene and it looks good next to aluminum. I just wish Makenoise would get rid of the juvenile graphics. When I spend $500 on a toy, I do not want it to look like a toy. Part of the allure of a modular system is that it looks high tech and complex.

I can (sort of) see the point of talking about "juvenile graphics" w/r/t Maths, but Rene? It's the picture of elegance! It doesn't even have graphics!

I actually find the Make Noise aesthetic very complex looking (in a good way)!

Or white... or anything other than amber, really. Still looks amazing!

I had a look, they appear to be SMT parts soldered under the pots - so no, not easy at all.

My Rene recently got a white overhaul and I much prefer it to the glossy black faceplate I had before:

- The black text is much easier to read on the white background than it was the other way round; this is very noticable when picking notes for a custom scale! I used to just sort of count up from C instead of having to squint.

- I beg to differ that it needs red LEDs. The yellow, in black knobs on a white background, makes it look like a badass bumblebee.

Vortexranger, it's possible to put a white panel on a black one? Do you have to send it to Tony or did you just pay for the panel? I'd love to swap mine!

I'm lucky enough to live in the same town as Tony, so I took it to the shop and he made the switch for me. I don't think he has any more, he told me mine is a blemished panel (although I am unable to find the blemish).

That is lucky!

Unfortunately I just check and AH is sold out now too.

Anyone wanna trade their white Rene for my black one? I'll make it worth your while. ;)
