SY-1 is a DAAAAAMN fine piece of gear ... It's features go way beyond of what you would expect from such set of controls!

What a coincidence, was having the exact same fantasy just a few days ago. Would be awesome, love mine- though it's often such a bully in the mix.

OK, I guess I understand wanting a module that already does what the SY-1 does, but honestly, there's nothing there that you can't patch up very easily in a small Euro system. Isn't half the fun of modular being able to patch up your own sounds (drums or otherwise) from scratch?? And getting sounds no one else has in the process?

Yeah i get what you are saying and when it comes down to it i'm sure thats what i will do.. i guess the post was meant with some amount of jest! its more about trying to track down an sy-1 but not being able to afford or find one!!
a bit like the dinsync 303 or the tiptop 808/909 range, the fantasy that sy-1 could be cloned into eurorack just puts a smile on my face!!

The claptrap is sample based....
It's better to clone a SDS3 or Syndrum Quad 478 :sb:
Pollard Syndrum brochure :)

Have you heard of this beauty?!?!?

Right, I understand... I've never seen the schematics, so I don't know if it uses and out of production ICs or anything like that, but even if it does, there are always ways around those things. Maybe someone in the DIY section might want to take up the challenge? I don't know if there would be a big enough market to manufacture it as a commercial product, but I would think that there might b a lot of people into building it as a DIY project...

Are kits/Eurorackpanels available for the Quad Bass++ anywhere to be found?

I bought my Syncussion off eBay :waah:

Don't know of the pcb will fit into an eurorack. I do not have a pcb or build the module yet.
If there more intrested people around we can ask for a pcb run and Clarke68 for a panel design.

I have some plans for a 3-6U dedicated modular drumsynth:
- 909BD
- CGS18 (sounds imo like a 606 tom/BD)
- Quad Bass++
- 808 RS + HH + CL (from eric archer)
- 2 L-1 VC-compressor

@NS4W: if you sell the SY-1 you won't loose money, unless you couldn't resist the temption and paid too much. They're very sought often!
