CV Controlled EQ's?

Post by helix » Fri Jan 31, 2020 3:22 am

I've noticed there only seems to be one proper EQ module with CV sweepable bands, in the MI Shelves. Are there any others? I could double up the signal and sweep a bandpass filter with some res up and down for a similar effect yes, but that's more modules and never sounds quite the same as what you can do with shelves.

Any others i've missed?? Looked through but couldn't find anything!

My guess is Fumana does this but that is more of a Filter Bank.

Trying to wrap my head around this too because I am trying to replicate ducking and clipping artefacts I was doing with virtual parametric EQ but Tritone only has CV over frequency. Shelves would be near perfect but I am looking for something more extreme than its +15dB boost. Addac triple band pass could have been great but again, no CV over gain.
I thought about adding a booster right after but cannot find a simple preamp module with CV over gain. A vca like Xaoc Tallin may be an option to add gain and distortion but could be awkward to use and sync the enveloppe between the EQ and the vca because offset and rectification should be applied for the vca not to close and to be at 0dB when no enveloppe is sent.

Cwejman VCEQ-3 has CV over frequency, bandwidth and level.

Thanks for mentioning but beside being quite expensive and hard to get, those cwejman modules doesn't seem to give much more gain than Shelves. The VCEQ-3 panel mention 16dB and the Res-4 seems to go at unity gain when fully cw. I am not familiar with those modules so maybe I am mistaken.
