RIP the boutique industry.

I read $35/module, not sure if true.

Like the boutique pedal companies, right?

35 bucks for the multiple module...maybe, I think VCO modules will be 99bucks, but let's see.

I could potentially believe a third to a quarter of Roland System 500 modules, but a 7th or 8th of the price?

This is a different industry unfortunately, the one that dominates modern music. The reach of comparison between pedal companies is a bit far. Moog released a product no one wants. Behringer releases every synth can manage, Music Tribe, every category they can manage.

Two iterations of the System 100m in Euro now, and neither looks any fun to use to me. All those short sliders and mini pots to match the panel layouts just don't look inviting to play.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there, mini pots are OK for attenuating stuff but I wouldn't like to use them for control.

Actually, pedals and modules are related, but anyhow.
I seriously doubt people that buy expensive, esoteric modules, will stop buying them all of a sudden because of cheap 100m eurorack clones.

This is in the sacred Euro forum here. The beginner will not even consider this before purchasing.

Uli's mom really ought to step in and admonish him to finish releasing one bunch of clones before teasing up a second one

 bring it on, this is the coolest announcement I've seen in my 9 years in the Euro scene.

:75: is finally not a joke.

Meltdown? Behringer won, they did it.

Uli is certifiably the supreme synth daddy.

looks like a bunch of wack bullshit. hooray ... plastic, generic, 0 character-having "innovation". no personality, no originality, no dice. i'd go for an all-doepfer system over this behringer garbage any day. Fuck behringer

There already are some pretty inexpensive module and they co-exist with higher-end stuff. Not exactly revolutionary.

Just like how the boutique mic preamp and especially 500 series markets totally disappeared over the last 20 years of Behringer and Mackie making cheap stuff?

Boutique people should be stoked about this, it will expand their markets.

I’ll wait for proof or evidence, and time in market. Behringer has always been the only interesting case in these industry dynamics.

For a year I've been telling people interested in modular to "go buy a Neutron" and play with it for a month. But after today's announcement I'm going to tell them the same thing. A Neutron and an SQ-1 is still a cheaper way to learn all the basics than buying a complete set of these things.

I’m gonna sell my Rabid Elephant Natural Gate when it arrives and stick to an all Behringer setup. Might as well be part of this “Robin Hood” revolution!
