I just want you to get as inventive, experimental & economical as you can, let's say you could only pick two modules to make as much interesting noise as possible, imagine you were going to be judged on how much interesting noise you could conjure up just using two modules, what would those 2 modules be..
As an example you could pick say maths and an osc to make sounds with, what two modules would give you the absolute most sounds and freedom to create music with.
What 2 modules would you pick, and try & express what you could do with them if you could..
cheers

You can sort of do this with the new basimilus.Fiddlestickz wrote:I wonder if it's possible to get a drum track and a synth track going by just using two modules..??
for melodies, I would choose atlantis and sequencer 1, 2 modules I don't have!
Or for glitchy stuff, Basimilus iteritas alter and ultra random.

Elements and Stillson Hammer MKII
Elements is one of the most versatile synths there is, it responds very well to bursts too, either as very short percussive hits or as triggers to build up resonance and the SH can provide those in spades and modulate the hell out of it!
I want to go and play... now

I have rather basic skiff at the moment (Tides/Clouds/Peaks/Mother 32) and the Tides+Clouds combo has been making me smile for nearly 6 months now. Tides as an OSC and record sounds into Cloud's buffer, freeze it. Then us the Tides Parasite Two Drunks mode to randomly modulate Clouds and trigger grains, just one example, it can generate a wealth of lovely sounds. Put Clouds in its Parasite resonator mode and send Tides into that is another I love.

Three Sisters + Clouds
I use Three Sisters as a filter maybe… 10% of the time? Otherwise it's an incredibly versatile voice, with a lot of self-patching feedback/FM possibilities. And Clouds (some great examples of why were just given!) and there's just so much to add with extra feedback loops into the Sisters, pitch shifting for even more harmonic content, spaaaaace. You might have to excuse me for a few hours…

already have Atlantis and metropolis, and elements, and clouds...
going to buy the Basimulus and a maths at some point, Rainmaker and shapeshifter together would be wild...
you see the reason I ask this is because sometimes I just like to pick a couple of modules and try and squeeze as much as I can out of them and I really like to be able to jam a simple drum pattern somewhere in there as well, not really a fan of using every module at once so thought what people use in pairs that get them great sounds..
if there was a contest and you could pick any two modules off a shelf and make music with them and win that contest what would you pick..?

In cycle mode each ENV can become a VCO. SO you could technically make four part chords if you wanted. Might not track very well, but it would work really well for drones. However, I suppose I would use one Maths as a very complex feedback VCO and the other to give it life.Fiddlestickz wrote:i thought somebody would post that...how would you make tunes with two maths..?huffnPuff wrote:2 x Maths

MI Rings and E350 Morphing Terrarium. Lots of interesting sonic possibilities feeding the E350 into Rings, plus the E350 can be used for LFO duties and self-patched. Plus Rings has built in attenuverters, which I would want at least somewhere.
