I watched the video again, and I must say, the dual-colour puch buttons on the Circadian Rhythm looks quite the sex, man... :drunkhomer:

Ack, I'm so sick of hearing 4 on the floor bass drum parts and what's with the wonky sync? Sorry, just my 2¢

Ha, no it's not for sure. But, that tends to be the beat way to show how much/little it bleeds as well as how much of a 'ring' it has.

At this point anything LPG-ish gets my attention because I've yet to have a euro LPG that I truly loved.*

(*To be fair, I haven't owned the PGH LPG, the Verbos one or any DIY.)

I can hear what I think is the ring of the LPG but hard to tell. Just a teaser, so looking forward to hearing more.

Off topic slightly but ... exper not keen on the Borg 2 LPG mode? That tipped it over a few for me. But there seems to be massive variation from people's reports on them.

Actually, I had a Borg 1. It was good, but too big, as I personally didn't like the filter mode. Borg II (dual channel) bled a lot and was very dirty sounding.

Outside of the 292, I think one of the best sounding LPG I've heard was the Bugbrand. Too bad he's not interested in making more, let alone porting/licensing to a euro design.

It'll be interesting to see what the Sputnik sounds like, because a quad design would be the most useful to me.

Well I like the sound of that :tu:, wouldn't mind some more info on what was used to put it all together when the time comes...

Interesting! I've heard two different 292 and didn't like them at all. Sounded thin to me, and there was a lot of bleed. Obviously it was all Buchla, so it's hard to compare to my Euro LPG experience, too many variables.

Anyways, the differences between each unit of any given LPG can be dramatic, so I've kinda given up on comparing models. I love my QMMG, but I bought and sold three until I ended up with this particular unit. If it ever fails on me, I might just go DIY and swap vactrols until I am happy.

Would be interesting how manufacturers approach vactrol selection to a achieve consistency for the batches of modules.

That's true. I couldn't pin which 292 version I've heard. There's so many. Even including the e version.

I think my taste has changed a bit, because in the past I wanted a LPG with a super long ring. I think lately though, I've been appreciating a tighter pluck. So for that I have been chaining 2 qmmg channels. It might be a waste, but a single channel on my qmmg is too loose sounding. Damping can shorten it, but it changes the sound in a way I don't like too often.

I'd love to try the cgs LPG with some well chosen vactrols. I haven't heard anyone post recordings of it yet though.

I'm with you, tiptop make blandest demos ever, even the stuff at NAMM, they're always trying to do something fairly obvious. A tr-8 and a couple analog synths with midi would do a better job... A bit more originality wouldn't go a miss :despair:

The ones I heard were both e versions.

Not a waste at all IMO, that's the reason why I prefer the QMMG over any other vactrol driven filter. So much fun combining the channels, modes, feedback/resonance/damp.. Having four channels in 24hp with normalisations is really cool.

BTW regarding the damp, try using it with attenuated input signals. Increases the sweetspot of the feedback/damping.
