OK. Under the disting EX's calibration menu is 'view input voltages'. What does that show?

Thank you, you put me on the right track. The problem was with my VCA & the way I was measuring on the scope. I was only looking at the output of the velocity track but not at the output of how the gate was affected by this velocity - turns out I was losing 1V, so I wasn't sending 2V at all...

Using a different VCA with manual gain control I was able to get it it back to where it should be. Thanks and apologies!

I’ve been giving the Augustus Loop algorithm some attention. Set up for some classic time lag accumulation in a fully generative ambient style. Also using two Mk 4s for tremolo and subtle timbral change.

Probably better on headphones to hear the spacial results of the interplay between the L/R delay line feeds.

The lead is from Plaits in dual op FM mode. Marbles drives.

Hi,
About the SC compressor (E5).
I use it with traditional kick input side chaining my mix. (i guess most people do ?)
problem is like to be able to have my kick post compression in my mixes. The way i do that is send my mix without kick to distingEX, split my kick to trig the sidechain and other side to mix it laster. It requires a second mix stage.
Wouldn't it be possible to have a "blend trig post" (0-100%) to directly get the dry kick mixed with the compressed result ?
would be very handy.

It's not possible on the mk4, since the Z input is not an audio input on that hardware.

Would be possible on the EX though.

Hey all, two SD card questions:

1) What make of SD card is currently recommended? I've got one of the old janky cards and I'm getting a lot of glitching in multisample mode. Would a Sandisk Extreme Pro (U3) 64gb be overkill? (https://www.incredible.co.za/sandisk-ex ... sd-adapter)

2) Are the card contents available online somewhere so I don't have to copy them off of the current card?

The EX is currently shipping with Kingston Canvas Select Plus 32GB cards.

I was also wondering if the card image is available somewhere. Or if I should be making a copy in case it dies.

Hello,

Maybe someone can tell me if I'm doing something daft, but I'm having trouble working the M-6 Stereo delay algorithm. No matter what I do, I can only get output A to output any signal, regardless of the 'Output' setting 0 = A & B are mix, and A & B are delay only. Only the output A outputs sounds.

I am sending Aux send from my Mackie mixer to the X input and as M-6 is a stereo delay algorithm, I am expecting stereo singnal coming out of A&B outputs, but this is not the case, I get the delayed signal only coming out of output A, which means that after it is Returned back to my mixer, I only hear the delayed sound in one speaker, despite having return cable in output B as well. Any ideas anyone? I was really looking forward to using this as a stereo module. I'm hoping this is just a user error on my part!

Thanks

X -> A and Y -> B. It's not a ping pong, they are separate signals.

Thanks os, I'll give that card a try. A reformat of my current card does seem to have helped a bit in the interim.

Thank you for clarification on this. This is a bummer, as having only mono signal coming in it seems like this effect is is not very useful to me. I'll have to stick to ping pong, and this evening I'll have a look at other stereo effects, hoping that some of the others accept mono inputs.

Still I'm barely scratching the surface with this module, but over all it has been super ace. Recently I've been having a ton of great fun with the chaos algo producing extremely slow modulations. Am I correct in thinking that the chaos alog is something like the Triple Sloth module?

nevermind, i was dumb :D

Well, just so I don't leave an empty message: for me a Lexar 16GB card works pretty well in terms of non freezing when using multi sample playback. Will write the exact model once it copied the content back;)

Edit: It is a Lexar 633x card:)

is there an ETA on the next batch of this module for the US? I pre-ordered one back in May from Perfect Circuit. Just curious, I know its been a tough year for everyone. Cheers

@MossGarden - very nice patch you shared above.

I just got one from Detroit Modular, and an ES-9. I never got any notice from Perfect Circuit or Patchwerks that any had arrived.

Yeah, cancel that preorder and get one from someplace else. I canceled my day one preorder in July when a local dealer had one in stock. I've seen them in stock at several places several times since then (albeit never for more than a day or two). I don't know what exactly the deal is with PC and those preorders, but I know that you have a much better chance getting one almost anywhere else.

Ordered from Perfect Circuit on May 30 and received it Sunday, Nov 30. (For some reason FedEx delivered on Sunday!) I sent them nag emails about twice per month. Squeaky wheel and all that.
