Though I am one of those that don't come here as often as I once did, I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear this news this morning, and have been feeling numb throughout the day. His family and close friends must be devastated - my condolences go out to all of them.

Ah shit, that's horrible. RIP Mike, and best wishes going out to his friends and family during this difficult time. Gonna fire up the modular and send some waves out to the cosmos in memoriam.

To all of Mike's family and friends who may read this, he will be missed by many. An internet forum about synthesizers might seem like a small thing to many, but it is a big thing to some. I wish you peace.

Extremely sad news. Without Muff's, everything we love would not have grown to such a great degree. RIP.

First my Dad and now Mike

Post by Sixstringeek » Tue Apr 23, 2019 1:19 pm

Lost my guitarist / keyboardist sorta Dad on the 18th. Was just as sudden a shock as this. I’m still numb. I’m utterly lost.
Why yes, that IS one of my dogs actually nosing one of my MIDI controllers and I took the picture.

I'm very sorry to hear this news, and I hope that if there is a place to donate for the condolences and support of the family it will be clearly posted somewhere (maybe the main banner of this forum). I hope that all of his friends here will keep close and celebrate the good things about his life.

Death is never easy and in this case I hope that the vibrant – and from what I have experienced extremely supportive – community that he fostered/enabled will come together in his memory and continue to bear the wiggle torch.

Thank you Mike for enabling such a wonderful community of people.
I did enjoy visiting your store in PDX and appreciate our affordances.

Yes, I think this sentiment is one of the main reasons that such an incredible community formed around this place.

Thank you to everyone that made it such a great place.

As like the rest of you, this is incredibly sad news to hear. I haven't spoken with Mike in a while, but we were talking fairly regularly at one point. I was lucky enough to be in that circle of Wigglers who had MW email addresses, contributed to giveaways to raise money here and helped kickoff MW Radio. So sad. I can't stop thinking about his family.

The one and only weekend I got to meet and enjoy Mike's company was a few years back at a T_A Chicago meet. We chatted synths, kids and acid trips. We had just met in person after knowing each other virtually for a few years, but it felt like we knew each other forever. Like catching up with a childhood friend who I lost touch with.

Hopefully he's playing the biggest blue Wiard in the sky :waah:

Sitting in my favourite green Muff-t-shirt with the cat and the waveforms and taking it all in. Never met Mike, mailed a couple of times, yet it feels like a tragic, personal loss. Thanks for your passion and warm energy, it has travelled far and profound. My musical life hadn't been the same without this friendliest place on the net.

I can only hope to have as much of a positive impact on this world as he has. Forever indebted to him, and his labor of love.

Read the news this morning on Facebook when I woke up. My life wouldn’t be the same without the wealth of knowledge this online community has brought me. It stoked the fire of my passion for electronic music. I never had a chance to meet Mike, and had only a few brief messages with him over the years, but this news of his passing is a shock. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.
