May not be totally relevant to your question, but honestly take the same drum samples and sequence info in a mpc and put it in a OT and it will sound weak and nerdy. OT seems better for taking mastered audio tracks and doing cool stuff but it’s no mpc! I have a mpc3000, mpc X, mpc60, mpc2500 and I w...

Sweetwater has a 2 year warranty vs theDJHookUp's 1 year warranty.

I went with Sweetwater.
Ohhhh nice on the warranty, didn't even think about it...

I agree, I just want a small keyboard sampler I can play live with and the only thing that fits the bill is the op1 but so tiny... there are literally no option for me

The site says preorder is out of stock, I guess right now we are in limbo until they start pumping out units?

Anybody get one yet?

Have you set up an external midi track? Also be sure to go into your midi preferences and check that it's sending out midi clock, it doesn't send out midi clock on default. Be sure to check that the Octa track is receiving Midi and an easy test is to select the external midi track, open up the midi ...

I love the creaminess of studio electronics oscillators but in all honestly they've always had the worst envelope/VCA sound on any synth and you can hear that in the demos. Roland however has a history of the best envelopes ever, capable of awesome percussive sounds and fast-paced attacks, this Synt...

I have an SBX and use it to sync my 808 and SH 101 to my MPC or daw. After all my searching I found that either the SBX or the inner clock systems Sync boxes are basically where it's at, inner clock discontinued one of theirs when the SBx came out so... More importantly use a hardware sequencer that...

it's easy to overlook effects and the recording process, I've heard some REALLY bad dry demos of the cs80 on youtube... the cs60 I played in person extensively sounded kinda bad dry too. I'm sure it doesn't hurt to have an expensive lexicon reverb, ssl console, compressor, record to tape and get mas...

I want to buy one, The pre-order for a completed synth is so much more but I can't even build a birdhouse... Then don't buy just the DIY version - you're going to want some years of successful smaller DIY builds before attempting something of this magnitude and having any hope of pulling it off. Ot...

Will people really save much building it themselves? Would it be cheaper to pay someone in the USA to build it?

Thanks for the pics! You fit a lot of stuff on there, maybe I don't need some huge pedal board. I like the idea of a keyboard stand as long as I can find a sturdy enough one. Very interesting running everything into the deco, I wonder if it gives a good mastering compression type of sound. Thanks!

Mpc1000 live setup? Mixer, keys, buss compressor? Synths hmm

I'm trying to get my live setup going and I'm having a really tough time putting all the pieces together. I'm aware of this issue, that is why I mentioned that I would like a sampler that I could assign a separate sample to each note. Also, (I believe someone else mentioned this) you can assign one sample to say, every 4 notes rather than every note, this would make it take much less time to fully samp...

keep in mind that sampling a note from a synth, then stretching that sample up or down a keyboard will degrade the quality because it's stretching/squishing it, that is the case on any sampler unless you multisample every single note, which will take FOREVER and isn't worth it nor will it sound like...

It's a damn good bargain, but listening to demos there are some sweet spots and some weak spots... I love the sexy liquid MS modern 4 voice sound but definitely some brittle weak high end in the oscillators when playing in the upper octaves typical of cheap oscs?
