Re: Stepup Transformer with Tascam
Does that mean I can go ahead and plug it in? It's from the early or mid 80's I think. I just don't want to fry anything. The fuse wouldn't help me right? I wonder if all those cheap transformers are just 240 with no way to switch.

Re: Stepup Transformer with Tascam
Thanks for the breakdown. I checked the wall out of curiosity, 117. I should probably ask tascam or just return this transformer and get actual 220. I thought I'd be able to open and adjust it with a jumper or something because it says it'll do both, but the screws are glued in or something. Guess I...

Stepup Transformer with Tascam
Hey all, I just got a tascam244 cassette 4track used from Sweden, and got a stepup that says 220 v but I measured 240 v coming out. I live in USA. Is it a bad idea to try to use this? The sticker says it's expecting 220. If it was a waffle iron I wouldn't worry but...

Re: Haible VariSlope Filter, calibration?
Yes, this is exactly the info I was looking for! On the original pcb, he lists a corresponding resistor for each of these trimmers to check for 7.5 volts while adjusting each filter trim, I wonder if this is just after each of these? It looks like the component overlay you put in the last thread on ...

Haible VariSlope Filter, calibration?
Hey all, I just built up a unit for this, housed in a paia rack with the sost, which is alive. Both are the random source versions of the boards. The instructions on juergens site however are for the original one and the trimmer arrangement and associated test points differ. I imagine that the order...

Re: electronotes/musical engineer's handbook/pcc pdfs
I guess I was mainly interested in the"core collection" of MEH/PCC & builders Guide, paper copies. I would gladly pay to print them off myself, hopefully someday will find a way.. . Fat chance finding them secondhand I bet.

Re: electronotes/musical engineer's handbook/pcc pdfs
I tried to order the PCC/MEH collection from Mr Hutchins about two weeks ago, and he said he was done with sending paper copies of anything and emphatically said no PDFs of these could be obtained thru him.

Re: Blank panels
Maybe check out stainlessupply.com. They have a couple different grades of aluminum in various thicknesses. I got some frac blanks cut there in three different widths for less than $2 apiece. Shipping not that cheap, so I got a stack I'm still working thru. I sanded and then letter-stamped, but you ...

Re: Haible VariSlope Filter, parts values on Pcb?
Hey Siri, good to know I'm not alone. I tried writing r*s a couple times, & they asked me to send a pic, and I did right away. Then I followed up, etc, nothing. Maybe that info is gone now(?)... Anyway if I find anything out I'll post it here, could you do the same? Cheers

Blacet mixer output query
I use the 5 channel panning mixer for my output module, it has two 3.5mm l/r Jack's and a stereo headphone out. Signal only comes from one side or the other, not both at once. Is this because I have to use stereo plugs for the mono outs? To listen I've been just splitting out of the headphone jack t...

Re: Haible VariSlope Filter, parts values on Pcb?
I wonder if this is"r&d" or"reissue"... I might be hosed either way. Don't think I'll even start it without more details. I guess I can just wait to see if they write me back - maybe I should send a pic to them too. If the test builds work, maybe some docs survive. Not sure that I would spring for a...

Re: Haible VariSlope Filter, parts values on Pcb?
Uh oh I might be in trouble. I put together a SOST board and was going too put these two side-by-side in a 19" frac size rack. Hopefully someone out there has built this one and has the docs in their musty 3 ring binder. Thanx for looking bad producer, also for the SOST wiring diagram, very helpful

Re: Haible VariSlope Filter, parts values on Pcb?
Yeah RS still sells nos boards but not their own... I tried to follow traces around with the schematic for awhile but got bogged down, some areas are similar but then I get lost. Some of the new ref desgs are all letters and there are lots of differences once I start zooming in. I'd rather not go th...

Re: Haible VariSlope Filter, parts values on Pcb?
That's the thing, unless I'm missing something. The component overlay in this link is for the original Haible pcb, which has a lot of similarities in the layout, but the Random Source one has them scrambled around. Thank you for responding, I wish they had just copied it directly. Any other ideas?

Haible VariSlope Filter, parts values on Pcb?
Hello out there, I have a Random Source pcb for this I got second hand that only has the reference designations printed on it, and am wondering if anyone knows a place to see the corresponding values. I have the mouser list from Dave Browns site printed out, and the schematic, but only see the older...

Re: Dusg led query (solved)
I just want to follow up and say that I put an extra 10k resistor in line with the anode sides of the LEDs, making it 11k total for each which made the bright yellows just right, fading how they should. This did not affect the time of the cycle however, so I tacked on an extra 10n cap in parallel on...

Re: CGS29 Wave Mult using 12v?
I thought I should add that on the board there are eight resistors with designations printed instead of values, and in the instructions page for this, there is a list of these and what values they should be for 15v, and their functions which all seem like they would be affected (?). How does one go ...

Re: Dusg led query
I read somewhere that in this circuit, use low current LEDs because drawing too much power can cause problems elsewhere. Is 20ma considered low? Maybe if it was kept from being constantly lit it could have an effect... Or is the timing cap a suspect? The fact that both sides behave so similar makes m...
