If you like the analog grit and fatness of the vintage Roland machines like 303, 707, 808, 909, you will lust to check JOMOX with no doubt. The best sounding analog drums IMHO. Jomox The Alpha Base is a remake of the classic Xbase999 (TR-909). The "classic" XBase999 was a buggy mess and a royal pai...

The Machinedrum probably has the widest sonic palette of all... but not exactly accessible for synthesis as you have to go menu diving to try all the different algorithms.

Hmm ok. I must have typed "analog cannot do fat bass" somewhere without realising. I'm glad you're highly amused though! I do think elitism, analog and noobs are very much related these days. As I said, it seems to me there are a lot of people out there who think that spending large sums on modulars...

I was ready to go for the Pyramid until I came to my senses. This machine has a 7000 MIDI event limit per project (you cannot load another project without stopping the sequencer) .... the Kawai Q80EX released at least 25 years ago can handle up to 52000 MIDI notes... the Pyramid costs at least €700,...

I like how you name a bunch of digital modules as next level analog trendiness. At least know what you are talking about if you are going to go on a rant. No one is forcing you to buy these modules, why get so upset, or do you just want to :youkids: ? If so take it to Gearslutz. I don't really care...

id like to remind you all that the original idea of eurorack by dieter doepfer was super affordable analog for everybody! that has turned into a nerd economy "here let me show you my super nerdy gizmo and while im at it let me charge you as much as possible for it". I'm inclined to agree. I believe...

Someone should make a hardware controller for Blofeld. The synth is no brained for its price. Has anyone tried one? Looks pretty slick!
It costs almost the same as a Cirklon and doesn't seem to have any MIDI CC capability other than CC #1 .... and has a generous 256 pattern storage  ... pathetic.

The most recent OS is only for recently manufactured units. If in doubt stay at OS version 1.22.

Unless you live off the grid in a treehouse in the forest, I would bet that 90% of everything you own is made, partially or wholly, in China. So why get all self-righteous about Behringer? The Chinese middle class is the fastest growing demographic on the planet -- it turns out that the average Chi...

Both have bugs that make them less than ideal for live use. The DT is still waiting for bug fixes, and the LXR is no longer supported by the original developer. Afaik some of the LXR's bugs (including MIDI sync issues) are hardware related and cannot be fixed by firmware. It is also a bit of a PITA ...

I was just saying that the hardware quality doesn't have to be bad to make it cheap. Mass manufacturing in China (with wage slaves) is what makes it cheap.

Moog synths and all that fancy modular stuff would (or could) be cheaper if they were made in China as well.

Not necessarily. It can be cheap because mass manufactured using wage slaves in China.
