Is that a known issue or could it have been a fault with your particular unit?

Yeah, never heard of the "Synth Guru" and the video is a bit preposterous (as if this random tweaking is some kind of performance!) but it gives a good idea of what can be done.

So the Boog doesn't sound "generic" but this does? OK....

One hour of Neutron tweaking, in case you're still not GASing

and all that with minimal patching.

This thing is massive AND sweet. Mother 32 , goodbye...

There is no argument...

What tobb said. For a polysynth, fuck tuning drift. Now I'm waiting to hear the price of the kit so I can probably realize I can't afford it

Thanks guys. No I am not mixing anything on headphones, they're just for playing in the evenings so I don't drive my neighbours insane. I chose the closed backs for doing live sets so I can have some sound isolation. The HD650 is well above my budget unfortunately! But about protecting the eardrums ...

Put a kick drum loop on an Ableton track and play a kick loop on the RYTM at the same time. See how close they are in sync. That's how I adjusted the clock offset, only I used a pitched up snare sound on the Rytm and Live's metronome. By setting the clock output to the Rytm to -20ms the two sounded...

SH-101. I liked it but I really wanted a 303 which I could not afford so it was a doomed relationship. Then an original MS20, same problem. The MS 20 always sounded kind of angry and grungy. I figured out it was easy to remove the keyboard and use it as a module with some wood panelling.... I stupid...

 There is no drama and nothing to see here! Even an OB-Xa, a fairly modern analog polysynth still has that bigness to it when playing chords that you don't hear in the modern gear. OK so the OB-Xa is fatter than the new OB 6? And even if it sounds subtly fatter in a straight a/b comparison wit...

I have to say I don't notice any timing issues when syncing my Rytm to Ableton.. The Rytm shows a regular variation of +-0.1 BPM (alternating between -0.1 and + 0.1) ... I adjusted the clock timing offset by ear for all connected MIDI units and since then everything sounds OK... but I haven't made a...

Sure. I don't use any hardware processing (no budget or space) so it's a different setup. I like being able to save all the routings and settings in the DAW for each project.

I don't understand why they would discontinue the basic SyncLock unit. The SyncGen Pro 2 with 5 MIDI and 5 Din sync outs was a bit overkill for smaller studio projects. There is obviously some demand. I've come across this type of discussion on various forums. I think one disadvantage of the USAMO i...

If you' re just doing electronic music in a home studio and not mixing/recording actual musicians I don't see the need for physical faders. I prefer to set the maximum levels in the DAW and then use the synth/drum machine's own volume control if I want to do a live fade. This way I never have to wor...

Open back headphones: are they easier on the eardrums?

I use the ATH M50x headphones. They are very nice but when working with bass-heavy material I notice that my ears get tired fairly easily. . . I'm wondering if a pair of open back headphones such as the highly acclaimed AKG 702 will be easier on my ears? I went to a shop and compared them to the ATs...
