Everything from Korg has been rather lame since the original Electribes. It's kind of depressing to see the company that once made monster synths now making low-budget toys.

A lot of people don't realize that listening to a synth on its own isn't particularly meaningful. It's how the synth sounds in the context of a mix and the type of music that you want to make that really matters. Also, it's not the sound but what you do with it. You could spend a fortune on analog g...

I knew it! I knew there would be timing glitches. I can imagine syncing this to other MIDI gear will be problematic in a real live situation. no wonder you see those demonstrators in the utube vids hot knobbing, like lightly touching the faders as if they were hot to the touch. This seems to be a tr...

Might as well round it up to $30,000. I mean what's an extra 5 grand ? Practically pocket money, totally worth it for the status the buyer will attain by having a REAL vintage Moog. :hihi:

Yeah... you have to raise/lower the speakers as well if you're switching from standing to sitting... or have two pairs. I can't afford that so I just put my speakers up on a shelf at standing height to prevent me from getting lazy and ending up sitting down. The temptation to move the speakers down ...

You only have to check the elektron threads here and at the elektron forums if you wonder what hardware defects I'm talking about. here's a little quote from a guy who is far too patient / rich: Hi there, I’m a little frustrated. I just got my OT MK2 back from Elektron. I had sent it in for a loose ...

Thanks for that. Using USB audio and sending MIDI clock down the same cable is definitely a bad idea. All those USB audio interfaces shouldn't even bother having MIDI ports. Most manufacturers seem to think that people are just going to send a few notes from a controller keyboard when using MIDI.......

LOL .. elektron products these days are for people who like to throw money away at gimped but pretty boxes with buggy firmware, hardware defects and to be abandoned in a couple of years when the new gimped but pretty boxes are sold to eager pre-orderers. A company cashing in on their past successes,...

I think that (at least on Mac) if you don't use USB audio at the same time, USB MIDI is fine for most things that don't have an internal sequencer that needs to be synced to the DAW. I drive 4 synths (including a Blofeld) from an Anker powered USB 3 hub with no noticeable timing issues. (My mac is o...
