in which a noob attempts to clarify an LFO and a MATHS LFO

Hey guys, let's see if I can phrase this question, bear with me, I'm an idiot. I have a Mother-32. It has an LFO, triangle and square. I have a Planar CV mixer (Intellijel). When I route my triangle LFO to the Planar CV X axis and put the joystick in the middle, it does what I expect: oscillate betw...

Oscillator tuning software?

Hey guys, watching some YouTube videos on people tuning oscillators and some guy had a nice little Mac app where he was able to easily tune an incoming oscilator. Can anyone tell me what the app is, or recommend something similar? Here is what it looks like: http://content.wellsoliver.com/storage/os...

Re: Korg SQ1 - mid sync + midi out?

What exactly are you trying to do, there's no midi in but you can sync in. I have successfully synced it from another sequencer into the sync in port, but you can't send midi through the SQ1. Only from it. MIDI merge box may be in order if you don't have enough thru ports to hook everything up Able...

Korg SQ1 - mid sync + midi out?

What? Is it true that the SQ1 won't output MIDI notes if it's slaved/synced with a master like a DAW w/ the midi sync plug? Is there a config option that allows this?

you get an option to use the midi clock for an additional cv/gate out (or clock out) from the 0-coast, an option you don't get when you use CV. it's useful, fun, etc.

noob question? MIDI and TRS vs TS

just learned today my 0-coast needs a 1/8" stereo TRS for MIDI from my SQ1, and a 1/8" mono TS won't cut it. Why is this? Does MIDI needs the two stereo channels to send more information?

Thanks for clarification!

Super slow LFOs on MATHS

I know this is possible, the manual mentions LFO cycles of up to 25 minutes, but I can't quite figure out how to get there. Any patches?

Random: YouTube demos and FX (delay, reverb)

OK guys is it just me or does it drive anyone else nuts when you pull up some demo on YouTube and the presenter casually tosses an aside about "oh of course I have this running through a reverb and delay" as though that's a fair representation of the module/synth? It completely changes the dynamic, ...

modules to help me mangle/mutate sequences? (Steve Reich?)

My big desire is to mutate sequences, meaning start with like a 64 step sequence, or larger, and then have a few different voices kind of essentially improvise within it, some at different speeds, some at different starting points, some repeating some given 8-step section, etc, all with CV, all ever...

audio input modules like the A-119?

Hey folks, wondering what are the best modules or methods for getting external sounds (mics, guitars, whatevers) into your modular setups?

Someone mentioned this https://www.modulargrid.net/e/doepfer-a-119

Wondering what else there is, appreciate any feedback.

n00b question: 5v and 10v

My first foray into the modular world was the Mother 32, which operates at +/- 5V. Then I bought an 0-coast, which outputs +/- 10V. So looking in my Mother-32 manual-- because the two are such good friends-- I see it says the inputs are "tolerant of 10V". So what's the deal? Does 10V allow for a wid...

Ugh, subscription stuff sucks. Can you just buy the J106 or the JP8 from Roland? I guess I need to A/B with the JP8 from Arturia.

Roland boutique series stuff

A) are these garbage? B) are they better than software equivalents? Mainly thinking about the TR-09 (and its many software versions), the SH01A (compared to the LuSH 101 from D16) and maybe most of all, the JP08 (compared to Arturia's Jupiter 8 plugin) I always like knobs and physical things but I a...

That's funny, I think I'd pretty much describe my own process as babble. Wonderful, random babble.

Interesting. The thing I always get caught on is thinking that if I really have this particular kind of sound in my head, it's up to me to get there, versus having someone with mastering abilities help me push it across the finish line.

Is mastering worth it?

Playing with the idea of putting out an album via Bandcamp, etc, and I'm wondering if it's worth paying someone who knows what they are doing to master the thing. Hoping to, I dunno, get a little more dynamic range, a fuller sound. But maybe that's all up to me and how I do things in Ableton? I kind...

Guys, I know it's super boring but I am trying to pick a simple USB to MIDI interface to slave my modular stuff to Ableton through MIDI->CV. What are you recs?
