just discovered this excellent fact mag article on how obscure japanese ambient classics from the 80s like hiroshi yohimuras "green" have recently become incredibly popular among record collectors. this album was entirely produced with the yamaha dx7, just like "music for 9 postcards". this synth i...

In general, I hate the Make Noise font. Love some of the modules, but I really prefer the grayscale (black) panels on them.

I really like how the ER-101 by Orthogonal Devices looks. And that it's very well laid out.

Was gonna say a Chase Bliss Wombtone because you can use CV to control each of the parameters. I use it here and there and it gets the job done, but interfacing guitar pedals with synth is more annoying than just having a module on tap. That Xaoc Kaminiec seems like an easier way to go.

With everyone moving to presets, and seeing that WMD has a few other modules with presets, you gotta assume it's on the horizon.

It's pretty obvious I guess, but I even sometimes used it as a more or less fixed-frequency oscillator with CV control over wave shape etc; usually by using an output at x48.. *tries to do the math* it can really get up to audio rate!? Should be 240 Hz max. 300 bpm is a cycle every 0.2 seconds or 5...

New cuckoo walkthrough for a bit more depth. Really cool concept to introduce modular synthesis to the world of guitar stompboxes. Could work well as a workhorse pedal, as well as a desktop module. As a side note: what am I doing wrong with ...

From watching a couple of videos, I got the sense that each square on the grid represented something that was happening in the patch. I could be wrong, but I noticed that everything related to delay (even a filter in the delay) was one color. So, I think in essence, assuming you remember the colors ...

After hearing Nathan Moody's album that's just made with the OP-1, it jumped high on my list of portable possibilities. It's form factor and the fact that it can run off of batteries really seems to seal that for me. https://nathanmoody.bandcamp.com/album/tudes-ii-white-box Now if I could just stop ...

I often have one output at x2-x8 on random self patched into CV1. It's pretty useful to control gate widths (attenuated as needed on the CV input side of things) into Maths or Quadra so you get some variation in note length. I've also had a lot of fun setting up Euclidean steps on a channel (set to ...

Yeah I've seen it pop up in a couple of Instagram photos like this one:

I wonder why it's gone down from 16x16x16 to 8x8x8 in the wavetable cube. I realize space could be a concern. And yeah, 512 wavetables is nothing to sneeze at.

This also seems like it could replace parts of HD since its now a Dual Osc. I wouldn't really know since I don't have one, though...

This kind of seems like it could be a guitar pedal (more closed off) version of something like the ER-301. Basically all the effects, but you have to do the patching internally and you could only have one CV or EXP pedal in. Either way, very tempting for a grab and go pedal. You could just ditch you...

I'm very curious to see how easy the looping feature is to use on this. I have the DLD, but this looks like it could be awesome to integrate some guitar looping into euro land. I also wonder if it's possible to move the location of the tape heads similar to changing the loops speed on the DLD. And t...

I got O+C as one of my first modules. Probably within first 5? Disting was also in that group. It's very useful! It really helps you make melodic content fast. Or you can use the quantizer on Disting and use the O+C for modulation. It's a great module to start with because it can help you get your h...
