Is that a 4ms output module in the bottom corner there?

Looks like it's legit coming out next month. There's preorders out and they actually have it listed on their site!

I'm wondering if they might update the euro module now, too.

So Buchla and Foxtone are owned and run by the same guy, I take it. This should be a good thing!

EDIT: Now I see that this is posted by Buchla... Welcome! I hope this turns out nicely for everyone.

Elite Modular could work, but it does have a deep lip around the top. The bottom doesn't have one, though. As for power, if you email them, I'm pretty sure they'd make you a case without the power and it'd be cheaper than what they have listed. EDIT: Here's a pic from the B&G Shared system thread of...

I'm about to order a 101, but I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and get the 102 while I'm at it. I've read in this thread that the 101/102 combo is basically a whole different beast from the 101 alone, which makes me think I should just jump in. And if I do just jump in, has anyone had an issu...

I have tried with running a guitar through the Disting mkIV, but it's not the best. Anything with overtones and it has trouble. And you absolutely need a noise gate so that you don't get noise when you're not playing. It also doesn't really follow the envelope. I really wish sonicsmith would make a ...

Question about the A+B and A-B outputs and how they are quantized. Is the math done to the two inputs before they are quantized? Or are they added together after quantization and then adjusted accordingly. I'm assuming it will never output a value that isn't in the scale mask (to steal a term from t...

Yeah... I completely agree with Rex Coil 7 on the grounds (heh heh) what they're describing is an ideal power system for a synth, but in a small case, or something that you want to be portable, a switching power system is going to be lighter and much more manageable. In addition to the boards mentio...

So yeah, you're probably good to go. You can look on your Modular Grid page and see that your current system only takes 227mA at +12 and 140mA at -12, so adding a bus cable should work fine. In the long run, that's probably not ideal, but in the long run, you'd probably expand to a better case/power...

What type of power supply are you using? More important than if you can use the flying bus cable is if the power supply can actually power all the modules you're planning on getting. And are you planning on keeping the power lunch? I'm betting you'll like having something that's super portable. And ...

Maths and intellijel vca’s is not a good match. Make noise use 10v and you need to always attenuate the output. Better with maths and optomix or quadra with the intellijel vca’s. Maths has attenuated outputs. I use mine with a µVCA with no problem. I use a Maths with a Quad VCA all the time and it'...

This is basically what the Ornament and Crime was born to do. It can also just take in a continuous LFO and output a new voltage when the LFO crosses the threshold. I think the Disting will also function like that AND have a trigger out every time the note changes.

Using an FPGA in a synth module would actually be a really cool way to have a DIY open source module that people could experiment with. Maybe have a microSD and someway to load different apps into the module. Sounds kind of like the O_c, I guess. And yeah, you could do it with a microcontroller, but...

A way to internally attenuate the incoming CV would be ideal in freeing up a channel or two of maths that I always seem to end up using to do that. The modulus method you just described seems like a nice solution.

The weak point of any semiconductor device is the gold wires used to connect the chip to the leadframe. You can see them through the window of an EPROM. These are ultrasonically welded to a pad on the chip and on the lead and sometimes they come loose through vibration or heating or the wire become...

The 4ms DLD seems cool, but I'm having trouble seeing how it could be taken into more abstract territories- though you can certainly make some neat, warped rhythmic chops with it. Perhaps modulating the delay times is the way to get more smear / rhythmic ambiguity? If you can set up some triggers a...
