Re: THE SPACE CASE TE-2 - Eurorack / Standalone Echo + Tape Unit

Well I’m for one glad to hear that the main interior designer is still going to be doing the actual interior design but there is an interim designer currently doing the mockups. It keeps the project moving forward and lets the main designer clear their schedule for the cottage project in the next fe...

I blame autocorrect. I know the right spelling, I’ve been messing with KSS.

Glad to see the Frac format live on! Here’s to many many more Blacet and Paia modules being built !

Re: What's your patch sampling work flow?

Great tip from above: No effects (reverb at least) Along the lines of the synchronization mentioned above, knowing the BPM or pitch before you sample it can’t hurt. Find that sound as you’re tweaking and then bust out a tuner or bpm clock source to get the patch to a known pitch/rate/bpm before you ...

Why was building and selling one of these once considered a moral transgression? 2c/ As far as I know, and I’m not familiar with the actual dates of these changes, originally this midi box project was open source but strictly non-commercial. So you could build one for yourself and that was it. You ...

How does it sound? Pages 27-31 of this thread you can find some clips posted.. instagram and soundcloud. you have to wade through people complaining and slagging Jim and the project. Which if you’re in on this thread in any depth you’re used to. And which if you gave him money a couple years ago, y...

The copper makes the solder mask colors much brighter too.
I think it makes the panels more rigid as well.

Re: A bit of a rant. State of tech in 2020.

The only unorthodox thing about the MidiBox track structure is that tracks are gathered into sets of 4 called a group. Tracks 1-4 make group 1, tracks 5-8 make group 2, tracks 9-12 make group 3 and tracks 13-16 make group 4. With the Midiphy hardware’s bottom row of buttons every track can be select...

With a vca, you’ve essentially built a whole second voice. Can’t go wrong with that. I’d do an envelope generator at the same time if you can swing it.

anyone bringing cirklon into the discussion as a triumph of hardware in the sequencer arena should realize its completely and utterly meaningless to anyone who does not already have a cirklon. the waitlist of 18 months is an eternity in the context of learning an instrument/writing music. i've been...

-Cabinets are gone- Giving these away. Used for years, have been sitting dormant for ... 10 years or so. Now that Frac is available again I think it’s time to move these on. Re: A bit of a rant. State of tech in 2020.

You think that today with cheap memory and powerful processors that track count, pattern length, song mode, midi channels etc. etc. being limitations would have been completely eliminated. I’m not a real programmer so I don’t really get it all, but, yeah sequencer tech in 2020 maybe not where it sho...

Which sequencers allow you to start with a blank pattern, record tracks, then copy the pattern to another location, [all while playing], then switch to the second [copied] version and transpose tracks and add new parts, then chain or set up in a song? MidiboxSeq. With 8 DIN outs plus usb midi out. ...

Re: Minimal setup for a campervan

If you like the modular mindset maybe a Roland system 1M? Has patch memory and is polyphonic. This could get you tons of tones in a relatively small package but still lots of hands-on tweaking. Pair that with a decent midi keyboard and you could be all set. Lots of options, really. Depends on your P...

Re: Building a Sonic Potions LXR in 2019?

LEDs freezing after an hour sounds like it could be hardware (heat causing faulty solder joint to open) or software (overflow?)

I never used the morph function!

Is the forum down or just dead? That stinks, it was a great resource.

Re: Does a 5u "serge" setup make sense?

A passive mult, electrically is the same as stacking cables. So yeah you could do it for sure. Serge circuits typically have a very wide range of control from the knobs, so patching dense “serge style” patches would be nice with the larger knobs and finger space available on the 5U systems. A 5u ver...

My thoughts on Kickstarter are that you need to provide a legitimate timeline for your product and release. That might not be difficult for an established manufacturer knocking out a module but for something like this, it might not have been feasible to create that timeline or desirable from the sta...

Modulation speed..... looks Ike an internal sine to the Tape speed with Modulation amount controlling the depth - I wonder if this “MA” will control an external signal on the time jack?
