No depth issues with it.

Really it's about how you patch it. Patch things to sound "vanilla" and they will. Patch them not to and they won't. Maybe give some ideas/examples of what a "solid character" sounds like to help people give some recommendations :) But, if I was looking at (new) Frac these days I wouldn't get far pa...

midi to cv converters do not have specific labelled outputs. just cv/gate outputs. That's not really true. All the midi-cv convertors I have used had quite specific outputs even if they had some programability there as well. Often pitch is the main one and velocity is usually there too. An example:...

The only cable I've ever had fail on me was a banana one. Fixed it in approximately 45 seconds. No failures or dodgy contacts ever with either 6.5mm or 3.5mm. Any format can feel cramped when you have a pile of cable spaghetti going everywhere. I've never felt Euro better or worse in this regard tha...

Entrainer I think his latest book talks quite a lot about his personal practice. He often uses examples from his own tracks to illustrate the things he's talking about. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Composing-Electronic-Music-New-Aesthetic/dp/0195373243/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485681397&sr=8-1&keywords=...

If you stay within the current limits and can fit the extender in behind the modules ok you'll be fine.

Just keep in mind that the minicases use sliding nuts - see the pictures you linked - so you'll be limited by the number of nuts as to how many small modules you can actually mount in there.

I'm sure you know this but just in case you haven't tried it out yet..

Sometimes "low" mode won't actually be that low until you have a negative CV going into the corresponding input. Then things will slow down a lot.

But, I agree, a good set of specifications would mention such things.

I'd never seen a modular in real life before buying my first one. And it was probably 8-9 years or so into owning one before I went to a synth meet and saw others. No modular synth shops where I live now but I'm fine with that. They'd likely only carry Euro if one did exist and it's not my main form...

Main difference would be moduation. Much much easier (and more fun!)to patch CV between modules than trying to do the same with a VST Absolutely. Pretty much one of the main reasons for any modular synth in my opinion is CV control over (in this case, wavetable oscillator) parameters. You can certa...

You may already have more lfos in the form of some of your oscillators. Depends on the specific model of course but some such as Modcan's VCDO - sorry, FMVDO in Euro - have a high/low range switch. Others may not have this feature but will get into sub-audio rates with the tuning at it's lowest and ...

I think there is plenty of room for both the more traditional and the newer multi-function/compact modules. It's good to see Roger branching out a bit and hopefully attracting more customers by doing so. Look at Modcan as a very good example in large format systems. You can get all the traditional o...

I don't have a list of core audio interfaces. I guess the main benefit I can think of is that they shouldn't be broken by OS updates in the same way that interfaces with their own drivers can be as core audio is a built in part of the OS. Obviously, I'm sure Apple could screw up core audio in an OS ...

If you are intrigued by Buchla, you could get an Easel for basically the same amount of money as a Shared System. Something to consider perhaps. https://buchla.com/produc...

It's not something I've done.
But, do you have one of the memory cards?
https://buchla.com/product/200e-memcardrev2/

Couldn't you save the presets you want from the 225e onto a memory card and then transfer them to the 206e using it?
