Re: Frap Tools Brenso

it's important to remember that none of these other analog complex oscillators in the 259 tradition have a through-zero implementation of their linear FM. only Brenso. and this makes a world of difference.

correct me if I've missed another that does.

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

Mind that while in Editing mode everything you change on the interface and internal settings is immediately saved to ther preset for that session. YOu will need to save all presets from the menue if you want them to stay like that when powering down or, on the other hand, your presets are save whil...

Re: Intellijel Tetrapad

cool, thank you! similar topic : I think it would be handy if the assignable A/B pressure output in Voltage Banks mode (the original sequencable one, not the mini one in Combo Mode) could still track pressure when you're in the bank edit menu. this would make it possible to still "play" the pressure...

Re: Intellijel Tetrapad

I am very curious if anyone with a Tete could confirm that the Pressure output that you can assign to the Tete's A or B output in Combo Mode works as expected when it is coming from pad assigned to perform as Voltage Banks. in the case of mine, the pressure output appears to be sampled (from whateve...

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

well, it's pretty new, and hit the market at a slightly less fortunate time than those others. I think it's brilliant. Quadrax, Zadar, Kermit MkIII are all amazing quad modulators for different reasons, can definitely recommend all three. Kermit MkIII reminds me of Waldorf modulation matrices but ma...

Re: Frap Tools Brenso

a few questions for Brenso owners or for Frap Tools: - with the Integrator fully clockwise (so the green oscillator tracks the yellow oscillator's pitch CV as quickly as possible), does the green oscillator still have any audible lag/slew? I've found it a bit frustrating on the DPO that its equivale...

Re: Xaoc Odessa, 1975 Variable Spectrum Harmonic Cluster VCO

Yes lots of sweet spots. I’m very happy with it. I think it really shines and becomes really interesting when FM’ed. I think it will stay in my system for years to come. Yeah, lots left to explore, once of the most unique oscillators there is. yes, I do really like some of its tones when only paire...

Re: Piston Honda MKIII dual morphing wavetable oscillator

as mentioned, the pitch lag now is about 3 milliseconds compared to an analog oscillator. I can now say with full confidence that I don't hear any delayed pitch shifting artifacts when I send it through a vca with a zero-attack envelope, even compared to my Dixie. ymmv I guess. for what it's worth, ...

Re: HERTZ DONUT MARK III - shipping now!

owner here of both a Piston Honda MkIII and Hertz Donut MkIII, and I'll admit that it took me a couple of tries (and this has happened before) before I realized that I was trying to use the same device ID indicated in one of their readme.txt's for both firmware updates. did you sanity-check that? PH...

Re: Piston Honda MKIII dual morphing wavetable oscillator

indeed, I tested out that same firmware earlier today and found the same (3ms of latency compared to a Dixie, which solves the blipping issue when using a VCA + no-attack envelope). very happy to see it solvable !

Re: Rack Review

I mean, in quantermain each channel can behave (besides as a pitch quantizer) as either a sample & hold or as a stepped random source. insofar as those two functions are what Rnd Steps offers for each of its 3 channels, yeah, you'll cover pretty much the same ground. ornament and crime isn't using a...

Re: Rack Review

with o_c in quantermain you aren't going to want to menu dive very much, especially if you're just using it as a stepped random source without looping or as a quantizer.

but the o_c wouldn't make the Chords obsolete, because that's a multi-oscillator.

Re: Rack Review

if you want to fit a good quantizer in there, I'd consider taking out the Rnd Step and use the 8HP you'd have free then for a micro Ornament & Crime. if you use that in its Quantermain mode, you'd have 4 channels that can each quantize your pitch CV to standard 12tet scales or tons of microtonal sca...

Re: WMD Javelin - new Envelope generator/amplitude modulator

looks great. how do we switch between the linear, moderate expo, and steep expo shapes? is it through a button combo or through jumpers? (I only see buttons for toggling Loop, stepping through the 3 Levels, stepping through the 3 Time Ranges, and toggling Gated vs. Triggered.)

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

I just had another look at the tempoLFO, wondering why this never struck to me before and it seems that the strange reset behaviour only occures when a constant clock is plugged into the tap jack. If I plug the cable out after the BPM are detected or youse the tap button instead global and channel ...

I received a thorough and considerate reply from IME; Scott was away traveling to confirm the continued factory production of his modules. he's working on the latency, though there can be no promises yet how much it's able to be reduced.

Re: First multiple compact EG: Stages, Quadrax, Quadigy, others?

wow, had no idea about the Delta V. looks amazing. I'm a fan of both Quadrax and Zadar. Quadrax is of course much more immediate -- knobs, especially ones dedicated to each channel, are much better to tweak than Zadar's encoders, which are quite finicky. without applying negative CV the maximum AD t...

Re: Xaoc Batumi + Poti 2016 batch

Hmm ... apparently not. You just dismantled the pin header by taking off the plastic piece that keeps pins together. Please use a real jumper, this thing obviously does not offer any conductivity. You know, every firmware update guide says to "take a jumper from the waveform select cluster". The on...

so about that manual quote -- "Capture Gate Input: Recording and overdubbing is activated for as long as a gate signal at the Capture Gate Input is held high" since Jason left out mention of the Capture button in regards to activating overdubbing, does that mean you can't activate overdubbing with t...

Re: harmonic interval sequencer?

you could also just use whatever sequencer you like and pipe the pitch CV through an Ornament and Crime that's using whatever harmonic interval scale you like in Quantermain. there are quite a lot of harmonic and subharmonic series scales that come built with the firmware, and you can add others in ...

Re: New intellijel wavefolder/crossfader: bifold

looks nice, would like to hear how close the S folder gets to the Serge Wave Multipliers sound. I was never too crazy about the uFold which I gather was more Buchla inspired. I'll guess that the described ring modulation can be done because the left input is normalized to the right input, and there'...
