Re: Inside the Korg ARP 2600

The original is similarly mostly empty. Similar perhaps, but my memory of the original's interior was a more chaotic space: another layer of pcb's with hand-drawn traces, sealed modules, and a pretty big bundle of wiring along the edge. I think this is quite bare in comparison. I noted and get the ...

STS Anima — Six highly-modified STS Serge panels roughly equivalent to an eight-panel STS system. Installed in two modified M-panel cases for a footprint of only 35.5” wide x 17.75” deep.

Beauty! I'd love a side view to see how the slanted case is supported.

Re: What defines this?

The Euro forum should have the answers you need. Many contribute to all forums, plus Sputnik specific users are really what you are hunting, plus Serge/"west coast"/whatever styles are pretty popular generally in Euro. I wouldn't want to tell someone else what to do, but the easy distinction to me i...

Interesting. I have one in my storage building that I got in trade and never used. You’ve inspired me to dig it out.

That's probably the among the more reasonable prices you'll ever see for one too, including if it were to ever get a reissue— and I wouldn't hold my breath for that.
:hmm:

It’s the second highest price a seller has ever offered on reverb.

Oberheim Xpander - coincidentally enough it just arrived :sb: :goo: :bacon: Someone's going to cry 'over $500', but well done! I'm in love with mine . . . it was on my mind when I picked the oft-called 'poor man's Xpander' as my choice here. Digging in deep for a couple months will pay off big, so ...

That’s so cheap, through they were $800 here for some reason. Yeah, it's what made me buy one. Juno seem to have negotiated some special deal as it's generally significantly more dosh elsewhere. https://www.juno.co.uk/products/polyend-dreadbox-medusa-hybrid-synthesiser/697806-01/ That's pretty stun...

Re: Behringer Pro 800, Prophet 600 clone

I was mistaken on the price. Some are around $250 on eBay or lower in the recent sold history. In either case, my point is that you wouldn't save much/anything to by a clone instead of the the original. And as you point out, the originals are going up in price, perhaps making them the better buy. I...

anyone else disappointed its not a poly 800 clone? i can't be the only one... Except you can still find a decent original for $400-ish. Which is too damn high. These things were usually 150, sometimes sub 100. They aren't getting any younger but even cheap shit is going up in price. I was mistaken ...

Rossum Trident.
I get it, but take a close look at the knob spacing and see if it’s for you. I sold my trident so fast... kinda hard to use if you like real time manipulation.

For me, Res-4. Qmmf is the deluxe version I guess, but Res-4 is ‘luxury” enough for me.

Does anyone know if there a rack kit for a Prophet Rev2? I see kits for the Prophet 08 and also the Prophet 12, but not the Rev2 or 6. Thanks.

Re: SynthTech E300 Ultra or Erica Synth Black Wavetable VCO?

IMO it’s more fun in the long run to use analog oscillators to design your sounds implementing FM, wavefolders, filters, and distortion I agree with you a zillion percent. The E300’s beautiful FM and could be a part of this approach, but it needs some other pieces to make sense in that context. A u...

I was listening to a track I did in the 90's with my 600. I think it sounds pretty cool. Ok, not P-5 cool, but cool still. The poly mod section was my first exposure to audio rate modulation, and I fell in love. Mine's memory was mostly filled with trippy weird sounds that were little more than text...

I suggest asking Det3 if you can buy the used one and send it to him to swap the jacks out. Waiting for a small manufacturer with a day job to restart production of a product feels like a potential multi-year proposition. It also seems quite possible they might never be made again. No insider info, ...

Behringer Pro 800, Prophet 600 clone

Stumbled onto this on fb. Some of the stuff they are doing is really fun. The Prophet 600 is such an underated gem of a poly. The original is still a steal at $1500-ish in my opinion, but the membrane interface looks cute like the 500 series AMS RMX16 and similarly kind of makes me want this module ...
