Yes, nice track!

I think the strong point of the DSC is the ease of getting that eerie, spacey sound, without resorting to other modules or searching very hard for the "sweet" spots. Who knew a game chip had this in there?

Seems like almost any time I post something about my Frac stuff, some nosy moderator is on my case. Maybe you guys should get a government job; I hear they are looking for more spys and snoops. Anyway, you are really annoying and I'm sure that you are boring other people with your GARBAGE, so F**K o...

Bargain Basement Scanner/Switch Kits

I got my kits the other day and they went together great. Blacet has replaced the MAX365 IC with a MAX362 due to availability, but this was the only wrinkle in the BOM. The modules are listed as "Cosmetic Rejects" but I did not see any problem with one front panel and only a very small (anodized) pi...

I don't know if this is related to your problem but... Had a module that had two inputs stop working. The two jacks were showing a dead short but I could not see a problem visually. I replaced both jacks and everything worked fine. I examined both bad jacks under a stereo microscope to try and deter...

I know you can get a spare power cable for $6; it's just not on the price list so you have to email Blacet.

There's no reason gates should go away in a splitter. Just tried it on a Blacet 2780; works fine. Maybe operator error?

You can get a negative voltage gate out of channel B if you have the pot FCCW, which would not gate any modules I am aware of. But the FCW pot rotation gives you the + gate.

Shocks are NOT good. Unless it was just a static discharge which are brief but harmless. If you got a sustained tingle, then you have a potentially dangerous problem.

You should unplug the equipment and contact Paia immediately!

"the VC Wave (designed by Grant Richter) is incredible" This is news to me. Some more info please? Did this appear in one of Grant's modules? The concept is certainly not terribly novel. The unique feature is the two green LEDs vs the white LED giving a slightly askew clipping and a different qualit...

I'd wish you luck but you'll need more than that! That panel has not a bit of left over room. Maybe you should go 4.5" or 6" wide in a custom job.

I have not seen he current Paia module. I suspect the null control is for zeroing out the modulating signal or carrier. Try adjusting this with no main signal and a fairly high frequency carrier. Paia used to use the 1496 IC, which was pretty bad at cancelling the carrier. The exact adjustment point...

You can certainly use it as four separate VCAs.

The block diagram shows this and so does the text:

Blacet Mini Wave Available in "board level" Kit

Blacet sent out a notice a few days ago for the MW2090.

This is a good deal for experienced assemblers who want to convert this popular module to a DIY or other non-Frac panel/format.

It's really too bad Paia did not go with the .156 connectors but.... they were here first. And yes, they have the + and - backwards compared with Blacet, Wiard, MOTM, etc. Probably the best idea is just to solder the wires to the PCB as suggested here and order up a cable kit from Blacet if you are ...

Blacet sent out a post last week saying they were out of these. They are looking for a small number of orders (25) in order to finance the ordering of PCBs, front panels. There is a 30 day time frame for ordering -- ends 5-23. Otherwise, everyone gets a refund and the module gets put on manufacturin...

VCA Progress

John sent me a picture of the board first run (prototype) to post.

It snaps apart into 4 parts to fit behind a 3" wide panel. Not installed are the 10 pots and ICs.

John says there is only one small goof so production is on for April-May time frame.

Just got some news on the module. The board is out for fab, sounds like it is a multi section PCB with all jacks, pots, switch mounted on the PCAs. Connected with a ribbon cable and a few small headers. No wiring! It conforms to 10V envelopes but can be changed to 5V by inserting a jumper and changi...

On the 2790 Mixer, you can change one resistor in the feedback loop of channels A and C to get some gain. Looks like 100Ks are stock; put in 499K for 5X gain, etc.
