yes - it shows up.
actually, i think that the legacy mode will probably work - i just need to connect the midi cables.( probably no need even for the c6 application. worth a try). that is presupposing that the midi timepiece isn't causing an issue....

Re: anyone good with digitakt mac setup?
again - not a beginner. doubt it's the usb cable (given the need to unplug the midi interfaces). yes - have rebooted the mac. have never used overbridge, and the unit is not set to use it, unless there is some other place other than the usb settings where it would be set up. turbo is false. have nev...

Re: anyone good with digitakt mac setup?
Works fine here on my PC, however, if it fails a restart is always necessary. In some occasions it will be necessary to hold shift/Function at startup to enter the boot menu, from there you should also be able to do the update. It might be that your firmware is completely old or wack. In that case ...

Re: anyone good with digitakt mac setup?
LOL - it connects if I disconnect my iconnectivity midi interfaces. It looked good for a bit - i can drag the .syx file onto the drop menu, but instead of it working, it brings me to the legacy menu, which it isn't supposed to do. I give up. I do not have these kind of midi update problems with any ...

anyone good with digitakt mac setup?
first a short rant - i have NEVER had a good experience with elektron, but somehow i got myself into a trade for a digitakt. from what i can tell, i am set up correctly to update my digitakt firmware. I have a 64 bit mac, and it seems my digitakt settings are set up correctly (for usb, and ports set...

Re: What is it about the musical genre "noise" that you find appealing?
Noise music is political in the sense that it serves as perhaps the best logical counterexample to the propaganda that people have learned about music, examples of which were debated rather violently on this board in the past. 'music must contain melody, harmony, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah',...

Re: What is it about the musical genre "noise" that you find appealing?
I'm going to play my role as 'noise curmudgeon' here. I think that one of the 'contradictions' of noise music is that it describes reality by recognizing that music is NOT descriptive, and in fact, does not have meaning. "The universe is chaos and order and imo "noise music" can reflect that i think...

Re: ELTA Solar 50 - BIG ambient machine
i was saying that in the context, it is a semantic niggle. As I said - i didn't like the lyra, and the demos of the elmyra inspired me. I'm not sure why this is important. Obviously i don't have experience with instruments that require skill. Violin is something that anyone can play. a curious senti...

Re: ELTA Solar 50 - BIG ambient machine

revisiting noise/drone machines
i went through a period a few years ago where i was fascinated by these things, and accumulated a bunch of them. Some were pretty cool - i remember a patchable JMT synth (curiously, i think i bought my old one after several changes of hands through a mw member, which should be arriving soon. but it ...

Re: Make Noise 0-Coast cheat sheet
yeah - i haven't used m4l in quite some time, but have live, and in theory have m4l too, so that's worth a shot. thanks for verifying that the cheat sheet on the back with the sharpie writing is 'new'. but with tons of cables in this, unless they are all long cables with lots of give, i don't see my...

damn. i've never fallen back on a sequencer, but i did almost sit on one.unexpectedbowtie wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 9:31 pmThe sequencer I use for all of that stuff is the Squarp Pyramid. It's the most powerful one that I end up falling back on.

Re: Make Noise 0-Coast cheat sheet
just received my 0-coast, advertised as new on reverb. i'm curious - (thanks for this cheat sheet, btw). I'm questioning whether this is actually new. On the back of my unit is a cheat sheet (not the one you posted) which is fastened rather inextricably to it. it seems like rather a strange place to...

well, this appears to be the thread about the elmyra, though i confess that i have an assembled one on order. I've been looking for the following info, but cannot find it. Can anyone let me know what was upgraded in 1.4 from 1.3? Thanks. I must say that i found the sound in some of the demos of this...

Re: Kilpatrick Carbon
i've had so little luck of late posting this kind of thing on f/s/t - but if anyone who owns a carbon wants to trade for a tetramaps, let's do it. i just can't spend more $ now, and i have a feeling that i won't bond with the carbon (there is a chemistry joke there, I fear).

i've tried the plumbutter twice. both times i loved it for a couple of weeks or so, and then got bored. but the cocoquantus - ah.
edit - i saw a couple of demos of the tracker which made me think it has potential. but damn - i've never used a tracker. maybe that's what i'm not getting.

Re: New Kilpatrick synth! The Phenol...
well, i suppose i am resurrecting a dead thread, but just got a phenol again..... i'm curious about the above. Is it that it can actually harm the instrument? I have been stacking stuff left and right (haven't gone through the manual yet in atomic detail) and it sounds great. Is it that it doesn't w...

Re: Midi controller for Kilpatrick Phenol?
just got a phenol (again) and my reaction is this: the phenol is less of a melody maker than a great sounding timbre machine. Do people really make tunes with this? (not like it can't). I'm using the schrittmacher right now, and that just seems so perfect for it. No quicker sequencer for designing c...
