BugBrand "Easel"

Recently I finally got myself Buchla Music Easel (with midi and "normal" cv / gate outs via LEM 218 ) and of course, start to use it together with the BugBrand system I have (old blues + amazing Scrotum modules ). I really impressed with how much you can do live with such a controller as Buchla 218 ...

Re: RE-303 Opinions wanted (now that it has been in the "wild" for a bit.)

It is amazing!
Also, there's an option with some builders to use some original Roland nos chips, then it sounds even more cool!
Highly recommended!

Re: DRM1 + Grilles

This sounds awesome!
I still regret not having DRM1 and Expander in my system (is the expander from Tom or made by you, Robert?) !!!
Somehow I like the sound of it more than DRM2 (hard to say only from videos, but ... ). Guess they're quite different sounding modules...

Disable MIDI Notes input or OMNI mode on LEM 218

Hi! I need help with setting up LEM 218. I use BeatstepPro live to control BugBrand system by sending CVs and gates from all 3 sequencers of the Beatstep, but at the same time I need to send MIDI clock to the LEM 2018 to sync the arp and of course, I don't need same midi notes I send via CV on midi ...

Re: Tempest vs. RYTM...shoot!

Had a few questions about the Tempest for anybody kind enough to answer: It only has 16 beats per project, correct? And loading a new project stops the sequencer, right? Will the sequencer pick back up once the new project loads? Or if you load a new project mid-performance, does that mean you have...

Re: Newbie question about Buchla power

This might be small enough to fit in a shallow case. http://www.portabellabz.be/distro.html Papz may build it for you for a fee. If you want to save money, DIY is the way to go, especially in Buchla world. This format is not cheap. You may want to get your electronic knowledge up even just a little...

Re: Newbie question about Buchla power

Thanks for tips! :sb: Yeah, since it's safer with 211, I would go for it, but there's another limitation I need to take into account - I have 208e which is quite deep, but the boat and the case are not : ) so there's only a little space left for the power board inside the boat, 6cm x 15cm. https://i...

Re: Newbie question about Buchla power

Ok, to make things a bit easier, I rephrase my questions: - Is the LEM 218 PSU would be able to power a 218 and 208 together? - Seems the 218 doesn't need +12V as the 208 probably. So this rail may not be present in the LEM boat. If so, a 7812 +12V regulator with the capacitors should be installed t...

Newbie question about Buchla power

Hi, I'm in trouble with making an "easel" out of what I've got here... So I've got 218 in a LEM slim boat with a single power socket and 208 in a black 4U Samodular passive boat (now it takes power from another system with a long power cable ). So I want to put them both into a diy case which I also...

Re: Syncing Easel via Gate / Pulse

Yes, it should be 10V or 15V, and I have no way to measure it right here... Anyway, I guess at least it's safe to try any gate / trig output from BB to Buchla? Maybe one of the trigs will be hot enough...

Syncing Easel via Gate / Pulse

Hi, I was trying to get the information from MW and manual but finally decided to ask the community. Recently I received BEMI Easel and now trying to sync it to the Bug Brand system (for example to Scrotum Labs Grilles seq module ) and / or to Moog DFAM. Both - master or slave - modes would be ok wi...

I was fortunate to play with a 208c for a few minutes at Velocity here in Seattle a couple weeks back. To my ears, it sounds just like the 208. The venue was loud and I didn't get to do much, and I didn't get to play with the effects, but it sounded just as great as the 208. Bonus: the sliders are ...

Also interesting to hear opinions of those who've seen 208c in person at the shows, does 208c "soundwise" the same as the latest 208 version or a bit different, more precise and "digital"?

Thanks for suggestions! I've just checked this with my older PRC3A filter. It works. With Res and Freq on minimum it gives very fast "glide" type of effect in LP and NT filter modes. However, the lag time is too fast and don't let me do slow, "lfo-like" smoothing. In that particular patch I have a r...

Slew / Lag

Can't find anything on the web so decided to ask - is there a lag processor / slew limiter module in Bugbrand world or maybe there're ways to get such functionality with other modules? No no! I don't need portamento lead out of BB, but want to make a "smooth", lfo-like modulation source out of from ...
