Im currently setting up for silk screen. Depending on run size, this will give better pricing than metal photo but also give all the luxuaries of a printed finish (large blocks of colour, more colours than other processes, etc.) That's great - I know where to go now :tu: You can't beat a good quali...

Front Panel Express is ok, but the digital colour print is a little bit on the rough side close up.

What vintage is your sys x vco? The first release was known to detune as the internal case temperature rose. If you have a filled up case then that may be (at least partly) the cause. The revised version has a temperature compensation piggyback board to counteract this. Well remembered, I'd complet...

Two of them mounted side by side are 12mm wide, so just enough to fit under the keys of most keybeds, which will give you the required 2 pole switching. hmm if you mounted the first one of each pair with a small spacer to lift it a little off the board that will give you the small delay till the se...

Regarding double pole switches for the keybed. I've just received 100 miniature single pole lever switches from ebay (£3.54 - no that's not a mistake in the price!) - They are 12 x 13 x 6mm, with 0.1 pitch for the contacts - perfect for mounting onto stripboard. You can get them from here Two of the...

I presume the Yamaha PA20 is 0.97A per coil - I don't know for sure. But if it *is* then it should be fine as a direct power source. It appears to be the same as my old Alesis Multimix 16FW PSU (18-0-18, 1A per secondary coil) Is there any reason to have an external transformer? It seems like a very...

Finally... Properly completed. 7 week build, which is pretty fast for me. Leather side panels on, rear I/O panel sorted (although due to a silly mistake I made in the artwork, it's white not, anodised - I'll get it re-done at a later date). Calibrated, re-calibrated & re-re-calibrated. It's all beha...

I love Reaktor, and it's not all about Blocks. Once you get into building your own setups, there's no going back.

Integrating Reaktor with modular hardware via DC control is definitely the way to go.

MEAN WELL IRM-10-5 5V for additional USB Power?

I need to add a small 5V PSU to power a CME Xkey 37 in my current project (and also to supply an external 5V to power an Arturia KeyStep) The MEAN WELL IRM-10-5 5V (2A Max) module seems to be what I'm looking for, but do I need to add any additional AC/DC - Pre/Post filtering, or do you think I can ...

Finished - I was concerned about crosstalk from all the patch point wiring, but it sounds remarkably clean. I still have a little bleed from the noise generator which I just can't get rid of (but it's no worse than an original Odyssey or 2600). I did manage to blow a couple of SSM2024s along the way...

You're just joining the outputs together (passive mixing without resistors), so there's no actual "input".

You can get some wildly distorted sounds by doing this.

In general, any zener diode above 6V should produce a decent amount of noise. Here's the factory suggested modification to the ARP Odyssey noise generator: I use the Oddy noise for all the synths I build. The Zener mod has a nice consistent output - works off the bat without spending time trying to...

Yup, they're the wrong size - 21mm not 16 as I ordered, and to add insult to injury, I've just noticed that all the 1M Log pots have a slightly larger shaft from all the others, so they don't fit  New pots have been ordered - I tried drilling out ...

Thanks for the pointers - After several attempts to correct the problem, I realised it was just a simple case of grounding the FM inputs to VCO1&3 when switched to VCO2 only - Luckily my build uses DPDT sliders, so one side of the switch was spare ;)

HELP - Modulation DC offset problem :(

I've almost finished my DIY synth build, but I have a problem with the aftertouch modulation. The 2024 VCAs work a treat - As you can see, I need to switch the AT Mod output between all VCOs or just VCO2. When all 3 VCOs are selected, there's no problem - it all works as intended. However, when I sw...

The folded chassis has just arrived. I've just got to finish up the Mod/Aftertouch routing and that'll be the electronics done, then I can get on with final wiring (MIDI>CV/Back panel I/Os) and the end caps. I've been off DIY for a while now, due to health issues, but a month ago I heard the call, and started a new DIY build. It's based almost entirely on Odyssey circuits, but with rotary controllers (After building the 2600 clone, I vowed never to use sliders again!). The simplest description I can giv...
