A vice works much better than pliers. First because it applies the pressure more evenly, and second because it is less likely to crunch the edges of the header by being slightly off angle. Pliers work if that's all you have, but they're not as good. As for the cable: If you bought the module new, co...

Be aware that we used to have a wiki here and it was over run by spammers. You're going to have to stay on your toes to keep that from happening there.

...dumb question, x-y mode means lissajious correct? Lissajous curves or patterns are one of the things you can create on an X/Y display. They are done with sine waves. But an X/Y display can do a lot of other shapes when other waveshapes are used. With a regular oscilloscope display you feed in a ...

It would be like saying that a web server farm is intended to be used by telegraph operators, because the 19 inch equipment racks the servers are mounted in were originally designed to hold telegraph relay cages. Are you sure about that? Wikipedia doesn't give an exact date, but suggests the 19-inc...

I could be very wrong and Im not being an apologist for anyone - but my reading of that was the Eurorack standard/format was designed with tech people in mind (it was a server spec right?). Nope. Eurorack is not the same as Eurocard. Eurorack is a music synth format created by Doepfer. They picked ...

The fact that a wall-wart or laptop style power supply has a 3-prong power cable does not mean that the DC output of the supply has a connection to earth. You should test it with an ohm meter (while unplugged) to see if it does. There are different types of supplies, and different methods to meet th...

Do modules come with the ribbon cable to plug into the distro board Yes, typically they all do. And does the rail that the modules are mounted on have to be metal in order to act as a heatsink (assuming I have no power modules in my system)? You can go with wooden or plastic rails etc The only modu...

Or click here:

Not sure which donate thread you mean. There might be one or more in the forum discussion section.

Just bumping this thread as I hadn't realized that the store is transitioning to a new entity. I kept reading that the online store remains open, but there's not stock; so I wasn't sure what that meant. Is there anywhere else that has more info? Or an ETA yet? I'd love to support the store when pos...

Very nice! This will be extremely useful in my portable development rig. Three questions though: - how accurate is the ADC (sample rate/bit depth/linearity)? can it replace my cheap Rigol oscilloscope in terms of basic measurement? - what internal triggering options to you give? - will the firmware...

Each uZeus takes a maximum of 2A, so you just need a supply with 6A or more. And a splitter for the cable. Why 6A? Would a 4-4.5A work? Glad to see your new O'Tool i.e. Coming out. :tu: :tu: As John said, it's best to plan for the max that the uZeus might ever need. It's rated as needing a max of 2...

Not in this run. It's very possible that we'll work again with somebody during the second run to provide MU versions. The O'Tool Plus has been designed to handle +/-15v without modification. The original version required modification to use +/-15v.

Note that any current videos of mine are a few years old and are the old version. I will try to do a video or two maybe next week on this version. Are these going to be available regularly, or is it going to be a constant small-run/pre-order thing ? Also, what will the US price be ? The suggested US price is $325. Prices overseas will of course be higher because of international shipping, import duties and taxes, and other international costs...

Some of the new modes: 3D scope This is similar to the classic Fairlight type of display, showing a scope type waveform repeating off into the distance over time. It follows the same rules as the regular scope modes, so needs to be triggered to continue to display waveforms. The display can be shown...

Some more changes: The voltmeter mode now displays: - top peak - bottom peak - peak-to-peak - average DC voltage - sampled over a time period of between 1 and 20 seconds This allows you to feed in a changing waveform and see the voltage of the top and bottom peaks of the waveform, the difference bet...
