I reckon that buying a job lot (even 1000) from China would probably be dirt cheap; but if you're only looking for a handful, isn't the obvious answer to buy the very cheapest knobs you can find (there are some seriously cheap knobs out there) and cannabalise them for the inserts? I strongly suspect...
