Re: What’s a good module to pair with a Dave Jones MVIP?

MFB Dual LFO
is a good modulation source for Dave Jones MVIP.

Korg SQ-1 is a decent choice for a basic voltage sequencer.
(and takes no rack space)

Plum Audio OCP is a whole bag of tricks.
(and is available as a DIY kit)

all 3 of these are black like the MVIP

Re: question about polarity . diode

Looks like they're backwards. The black line on the diode should match the line at the point of the triangle.

Re: 0-coast vs Pico System III vs Modulor114 vs Phenol vs Ants advice needed

The Phenol is on discount now along with Kilpatrick Carbon Seq. & Redox digital reverb. I feel like Phenol is a decent light, and portable synth. The bananas are more comfortable to patch with if you get a good set of cables. Banana cables and connections don't get intermittent problems the way 3.5m...

anyone remember the DIY project by Jurgen Haible

instead of the normal BBD style dimension chorus?

Re: 500 Series: Compressors and EQ’s for Electronic Music Production

I have a 4 space Heritage Audio OST-4 case. It works fine with the single Hairball Audio Bronze Preamp that I have in it, but it seems like Heritage Audio forgot to tap the screw holes for the bottom side. Annoying flaw for QA to miss. I love the Hairball Bronze preamp for color & character. When I ...

Is it normal for the right half to be stuck in ScaleDuet when not using apps that use up both halves?

Down button doesn't make a box around the right half...
Fixed it. It was just a bad solder joint. ^_^

Re: Output based on the rate of change in the input voltage?

Interesting thread.

There is a (video rate) differentiator available from LZX (Sandin IP series).

I ought to try it processing voltages from the Sensory Translator / Audio Frequency Decoder (spectral envelope followers).

I think the Doepfer R2M ribbon controller with little desktop box (MIDI&CV)
is very portable,
and well paired with a Kilpatrick Phenol.

Re: Hybrid Case?

Yeah, I mix Frac & Euro.
Most of them are in separate cases,
but I do have one sequencing cabinet that includes a row of each.
The Frac row is using an old Blacet PSU,
and the Euro row is using an old TipTop powered busboard.

Re: Frac envelope generators

Btw... something like DUSG or Maths in frac format would b amazing. There used to be Bananalogue VCS in Frac. Some folks have DIY slopes from CGS. While the Blacet EG1 doesn't have the amplitude following aspect, it is has plenty of features to make up for it. I reckon the same is true with TEM (pe...

I have done 1FU: Window Comparator, Mixer Processor, I/O, and Mini-Wave. No FPD ...

Re: "Antivocoder": does it exist ? ( a spectral "ducking" device ;) )

what do you mean opposite direction? switch carrier and modulator inputs?? describe the function blocks. I assume your desired algorithm would include: - bandpass filters to divide the input spectrally - amplitude followers on the outputs of each bandpass filter ... - modulating VCAs (inverse CV for...

Does anyone have a Frac format .fpd of the Living VCOs? I managed to get hold of a PCB, it would be good to get some layout ideas before starting to build up the PCB. I do think users benefit from uniform connectors when patching. I guess Buchla users might differ on that. Yes, I meant primarily gates and triggers. It's interesting that you bring up higher frequency. I use a mostly LZX video synth as well as audio stuff. I've seen some people build the cadet seri...

Does this mean Bantam TT cables end up suffering from the same crackling problems that 3.5mm and 1/4" develop? What sort of question is that? There can be many reasons for crackling and without saying what you mean how can anyone say if they are the same? Contacts tarnish, especially in a city with...
