I looked at the Tempi more as replacement for my Clock divider. I took out my RCD and put the Tempi in. And as a benefit it can clock itself, and multiply the clock. And then of course do the rotation as well. And I'm not stuck with preset divisions like on the RCD. It's an RCD on steroids, plus a c...

The Rosie really isn't that useful as a stereo output. Anything that goes into A or B is routed to both channels on the balanced output (when using an insert cable) so you end up with two identical outputs. the only useful circumstance to use dual output is if you are processing a mono channel thro...

I use a Motu Traveller MK1 and have a -20db pad and I can manage my modular signal... My final module before hiting the motu is usually a Linix. If you've never soldered anything as of yet I recommend making your own cables to start. It's good practice. As simple OR combiner is an easy DIY project to try as well. And a handy tool to have in the rack.

You might want to look at the digital bricks if space is limited. They sound pretty good, although different from a tank. And if you get more space you can make a switch to be able to use both brick and tank. As far as the difference in the tanks is concerned. Bigger is generally bigger. Smaller is ...

If I understood what the question was then you can do it with a Rene and using the logic functions with the help of a VCA. I just setup this Patch: Cloq 1/4 out ---> Rene X clock input. ---> RCD input CloQ 16ths out---> Modemix Input 1 Modemix Output 1---> Rene X mod input RCD /8 Output----> ADSR j...

The Synthrtek Sequence 8 is ok. It has some interesting features with its random setting. It has its own clock so you don't need a clock source. 3 separate cv outs each with their own attenuator. Only thing is that your stuck with a very constant rhythm as you can't have any rests. Unless you have a...

Reverb where have you been all my life!

I just finished building the Thonk Music Thing Modular Spring reverb kit. I've never been so excited about a module. I've been using plugins in Protools to add reverb when I wanted it, but this thing just blows that idea away. I might have to get a second one now. It sounds beautiful. I tried the Er...
